Why would the Kings pay a 7th defenseman $2M? I think they'd rather just re-sign Olli Maatta to a one-year deal.

Don't really care for either of those trades. THe Kings really like Lizotte and nothing they're getting back is of any significant value. Durzi had a quality breakout season and looks to be a quality top four guy. The Kings could use some help at LHD, but they'd be looking to package up Durzi with some other assets to get a big upgrade at that spot, not trade him for a downgrade and a pick. The Kings would want Chabot from Ottawa, not Brannstrom.

There's no package LAK could put together that would get OTT to move Chabot.

I don't disagree, but that's who they would want. They're unlikely to be trade partners for defensemen.
