Trading an emerging No. 1 C for another Landeskog and a $6m 3rd line center...that doesn't make much sense. Colorado does not get better with this trade.

Its not bad, maybe Edmonton could retain some salary. Colorado has Jost who will be a 2nd line centre in no time. That Give them Duchene, Jost, RNH down the middle and the depth pool filling up.

Mackinnon is overrated. His offensive production is barely better than Nugent-Hopkins, and his defensive ability is worse. If I were the Oilers GM, the only reason I would do this trade is to clear cap space
