Description
Hertl gave an interview for one Czech newspaper like 2 days ago. He mentioned that he has no clue about SJS plans for upcoming seasons (if they want to do full rebuild or small retool etc..) and he is aware that he might not be in their future plans because of his high trade value and with only one more year left. He wants to compete for cup so I am pretty sure that he will get traded because SJS wont make playoff. He wants to compete so badly that he mentioned specifically Landeskogs contract as comparable for his potential upcoming contract, signing for less money with top conteder (I dont mean that he would want the same money, but that he would take a discount). Beside Colorado, he spoke about Boston (he would like to play with some Czechs for contending team). He also said that he will choose the team with respect to his family (he has almost 1 y.o. son - would prefer east coast beacuse of shorter flights to Europe, and they also enjoyed Cali weather) - Florida/Tampa might be an option if they make the money work. So if he wont be traded before TDL to any of the teams i mentioned above, I believe the trade will be without extension and he will try UFA market.

Would like to hear your opinion guys about teams that would fit his taste, i dont want to solve trade value because it will strongly depend on time of season, the other team, position of SJS (in terms of winning lottery), injuries and salary retention.

Florida could be interesting.

I don’t think he’s quite worth 8x7 though. Maybe 6x6.

Colorado will have the money to sign him next year, and he would be a great fit. Considering what they gave up for Kuemper, I'm not sure they can pull it off at the tdl. They could be a player in the off season though.

It's not the east coast,, but if he really wants a good combo of money, a place to raise a family, and a chance to compete for the foreseeable future, Denver is a pretty good option.

So you think Hertl is a middle 6 center, but that he is worth 6Mx6yr?

I really like his fit on COL and I think they have the assets to do it. Aside from Newhook/Byram I think all other prospects and picks would be on the table if the trade came with an extension
