Description
Vladi plays left side on power play so he can play there 5 on 5. Think he'd be good there with Ror and Perron honestly. Let clifford clear waivers and bring up someone cheaper so we can make Thomas somewhat happy with the promise of getting paid next season. Time for Kilm Kostin and I think he'd be great with Thomas and Kyrou. Joshua and MacKenzie M. Are good 4th line fill in guys and there's others who could come in and get a look throughout the season. PP1 we've basically seen before and it worked. Thomas and Krug keeping the puck in and making crazy feeds, ROR down low, Perron and Schenn playing off wings which they do well on PP. Unit 2 is a bit more interesting but Kyrou can play center/win face offs and does good infront of the next where Saad will be jumping into the mix too. Faulk will be qb here with Vladi in his happy place looking for a shooting lane or finding his Russian buddy Buch on the backdoor/one timer. Think this team has a ton of offensive threats. I like our defense as long as everybody plays to their potential and stays a bit more healthy this season.

Perron is much more capable of playing LW than Tarasenko. The PP and 5v5 are not the same animal.

I know what you're saying but I'd really rather keep Perron where I think he plays better 5 on 5. Buch is kind of a lock on the right side too imo. And I know Berube really prefers keeping guys on their strong hand wing. We'll just have to wait and see how it all fits best, just think that's a simpler remedy.

Perron has played both wings in his career, and he spends half his shifts on the left anyway. And mocing Tarasenko to the left is the exact opposite of keeping guys on their strong/preferred wing.

Not what I meant by keeping them on their strong hand. You could flip Perron and Vladi if it doesn't work, just not sure having 3 guys in the top 6 playing what is technically their off wing is smart or something Berube would go for.

Off wing is a concept that means different things to different players. For shooters, which all three of those players are, their "off wing" is actually the one that provides them with better shooting angles. And in Tarasenko's case, playing the left would entirely negate his best and favorite skating maneuver, which is the hard swerve around a defender from the perimeter to the crease. He will not be playing left wing, my friend. Bank on that.
