Description

I honestly think we should sit still. We're not winning the cup this year and I don't think any kind of blockbuster trade will change that. If we miss the playoffs, fine. We'll have at least one high level prospect graduate to the NHL next season, our roster will be a lot stronger, and if any weaknesses in our roster come up between now and the playoffs, we can address those at the draft when our picks will have much more value.

We've been drafting talent for a long time and it's about to pay off. I don't see why we should throw that all away for Duchene or anyone currently being shopped.

That's what any team has to do. However, you have Clutterbuck, Ladd, Boychuck... signed long term at very expensive contracts. You'll have to figure out a way to move these contracts before your rookies burn their ELC.
