I think teams are hesitant to give too much for Grabner. On one hand you have a player that a team would be nuts to trade away in a playoff year. Unless they know something we don't.

One of the highest goal scorer's in the league plays under 14 mins a night on avg...... To me, that screams he's over achieving and is playing over his head with a ridiculous shooting %. NYR are riding the wave right now and hoping to capitalize on desperate GM's who think more goals means better player. They might get lucky but I get the feeling GM's are starting to be real sturdy when it comes to overpaying at the TDL for players who are probably not as good as you'd think.

That's why I think the Rangers should try to sell high even if they are trying to make a playoff run. He has a very high shooting % and will probably never have another season like this again. By trading him for Manson, it fills a big hole in the rangers lineup.

Yeah yeah I totally agree with you here, I'm just saying I don't think Anaheim would do Manson for him. I think a team might do a 2nd rounder at best or a late late 1st rounder maybe if he keeps up this pace. Everyone knows he's overachieving, no one will overpay unless they really are desperate. Like I said, few teams are making those mistakes anymore.

Why do you think that you're the only people that would feel like this? Anyone trading for Grabner knows he's unlikely to have another season like this and, thus, won't pay an inflated rate.

As F50marco says, he may get a 2nd or late 1st from a team at the TDL, but even that's tricky as he's not a pure rental with 1 year left on contract after this season.
