Description
Lots of changes. First, I expect JVR to be taken by Seattle and you can throw in a guy to make sure it happens. Given they probably are going to take him anyway, you shouldn't have to give up much more to make sure it's guaranteed.

The Eichel/Reinhart trade: I think this is a big offseason for the Flyers, not just because they had a bad year, but it's also the year you need to convince Giroux and Couturier to stay after this year. You gotta show everyone the organization wants to win. Buffalo gets a solid, young winger on a good contract. They get a former 2nd overall who still has some potential. They get Zemula who probably won't crack the lineup in Philly but could be a good player in a different situation. They also get another previous former first round pick and two more firsts, plus a 3rd. Feels like a lot/enough for one very injured superstar and two guys who want to leave. Eichel, Couturier, and Hayes down the middle would rock.

Anaheim trade: Anaheim has a lot of cap room for the next few years, through the duration of Voracek's contract, so they seem like a good fit. They could use an older veteran who can still produce next year and maybe a few years after for the younger guys on their team. Flyers need cap space and the defender. Flyers throw in paying the rest of Kesler's contract while he is on LTIR. He is still earning $6.6mil of base salary so it's not an insignificant amount of money to a lower budget team in a rebuilding situation. Flyers can use the Comcast money to pay it off. Flyers get a younger guy in Max Jones who has some potential and plays Flyers Hockey. Anaheim doesn't need Manson on the right side with Drysdale and Shattenkirk on the roster.

Minnesota: Feels like Dumba is the odd one out and Chuck Fletcher knows this guy. RHD on a decent contract for only a few years. If it works, great. If not, you're not tied to the guy forever. I think he could be fun in Philly!

Even though you're adding a lot of money in Eichel and Reinhart, there is still some space in the future to resign Giroux/Couturier/Farabee when they're up considering the defense doesn't have any major contracts on the book. This structure keeps things open going forward depending on how things play out on the ice.

Voracek is an aging veteran under contract for two more years at a cap hit which would make him the most expensive player on our roster. I can't see the interest.

Buffalo says no thanks. To many question marks.

Buffalo doesn’t need any more left-handed defensemen, they already have too many. Switch out O’Brien and Zamula for Meyers and you’ve got something.
