They're in a tough spot.

- They don't have any assets that aren't a part of their "core" that are tradable for a 1st or major high ceiling future pieces.
-The only prospect in their system with a high probability of being a top 6/top 4 asset is Cozens, (if you want to say Samuelsson, you're welcome to)

So they can't really do a "rebuild" until people like Okposo or Skinner are off the books.

And if they "Go for it", the only non-NHL assets they can trade for top 6 NHL assets are picks (Cozens is probably in the NHL next year)

So they're basically screwed now or screwed later....or screwed now AND later.

Imo if they need 2 guys, the perfect guys for this team would be Cirelli and Brodin. But idk if they have the assets to go for them and still keep their top 10 pick this year

I think it's more than 2 guys....

It's 2 "core" players. (a 1 RHD and another F) sure.

But they're going to have to build a 3rd line out of basically nothing, and that's probably going to involve overpaying UFA's to go to Buff, and overpaying bottom 6 guys means less cap to work with for your better players. I'm not sure what they can do. Especially with how poor they've been drafting in the mid-later rounds.
