      You only have 22 players, need 23. Figuring in the 775,000 penalty for the amount of games Timonen played you would probably need to trade Versteeg or Shaw and promote 2 from Rockford.

      You don't need 23. You can run a lineup of 20, you're jsut screwed if someone gets hurt.

      And there's always the Rockford shuttle to quickly recall someone…

      Again, the point of my lineup is that people are not quite correct when saying the Hawks absolutely need to move Sharp and Bickell but also Versteeg and Crawford. Getting rid of $9.9M in salary via Sharp and Bickell is enough to do it, provided Kruger signs at around $2.5M. Then, that gives about $4.1M for Oduya (age 33), which, compared to the contracts for Mike Green (age 29; 3yr - $6.083M AAV), Francois Beauchemin (age 35; 3 yr - $4.5M), and Andrej Sekera (age 29; 6 yrs - $5.5M), seems like a nice hometown discount which he says he has been willing to take.

      Hockeybuzz.com is still the best place for all the rumors. Hopefully it plays out like the lineup I'm dreaming of… After the Saad deal, which I think will benefit the Hawks long term, I won't be surprised by anything, though.
