The only reason Pittsburgh will even consider trading MAF is to clear cap. So why would they retain part of his salary plus take on the contracts of Raymond & Engelland, who we didn't re-sign because he was expendable in the first place? Only thing Pittsburgh trades MAF is picks or a stud like Gaudreau. also, Calgary's defense cap is outrageous. Hamhuis & Wideman are way overpaid & Hamilton is pretty high too.

yeah youre right, never thought about that. thing about calgary's defensive cap hit is that they will have to pay a lot to attract players.

FYI wideman and hamilton were are already under contract

First of all, there's no teams looking for a goalie other than maybe Toronto.
The upcoming expansion drafts means there will be a ton of teams trying to get something for one of their two goalies because they can only protect one.
Why would you give up half the farm + a roster player that PIT will never take for MAF. Even at his prime Fleury wasn't wroth a 1rst, 2nd, 3 prospects and a roster player.

If the Flames get Fleury it will be for a 2nd rounder and a prospect.
Or maybe a couple of picks.
