Description
Signed McQuaid to get good veteran leadership to grow young defensemen. Pair a rookie with a veteran. Jack Johnson's contract is not moveable. I'm targeting us to fully contend a year or two before his contract expires. Troy Brouwer signed because I need some veterans to fill out my NHL roster that's going to be tanking. Pirri is my hockey Andy Isabella and I trade for him to see how his INCREDIBLE shot does with a ton of ice time on a line with some legit set up men.

6.
PIT
  1. Brown, J.T.
  2. 2021 2nd round pick (MIN)
Additional Details:
Acquire hometown kid, potential top-6 center
MIN
  1. Bjugstad, Nick
Additional Details:
Dump decently high salary for a player who wasn't a fit, get 4th line energy plug in JT Brown and a 2021 second.

(compensation is low because Bjugstad's contract is steep)

MTL
  1. Letang, Kris
Additional Details:

8.
PIT
  1. 2020 3rd round pick (FLA)

Penguins get Ho-Sang, the ultimate wild card, Bode Wilde a huge potential boom-or-bust prospect, and Robin Salo a safe bet to be a physical #4/#5
NYI
  1. Murray, Matt
Additional Details:
Penguins have no need for a soon-to-be FA goaltender if they're doing a full tear down
10.
PIT
  1. Sutter, Riley
Additional Details:
Caps get young, cheap depth to fill out cap-strapped team
WSH
  1. McCann, Jared
Additional Details:
Pens get potential future 3C, dump McCann who has no room on roster
11.
PIT
  1. Guhle, Brendan
  2. 2021 3rd round pick (ANA)
Additional Details:
Ducks refusing to rebuild, add much-needed scoring on the wings for one last dance with the core.
ANA
  1. Hörnqvist, Patric
Additional Details:
Penguins dump aging player, bad salary. Get Guhle, a potential top-4 PMD and a nice pick
12.
PIT
  1. Juolevi, Olli
Additional Details:
Canucks want some veteran, versatile 40 point scoring depth, need to trade the disgruntled Juolevi who BADLY needs a change of scenery
VAN
  1. Rust, Bryan
  2. 2021 3rd round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
PIT adds 3rd because Rust isn't quite enough to get Juolevi even if Juolevi is a bust
13.
PIT
  1. Horton, Nathan
  2. Johnsson, Andreas
  3. 2021 1st round pick (TOR)
  4. 2022 2nd round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
Dumping horton and acquiring a top-4 defensive defenseman comes at a cost. They give up the promising Johnsson they simply cannot afford, and trade away two picks.

Think of it as the first to dump Horton, and then Dumolin for Johnsson and a 2nd
TOR
  1. Dumoulin, Brian
Additional Details:
Leafs get HUGE top-4 defensive help at a cheap price, and get to dump Horton.
14.
PIT
  1. Grundström, Carl
  2. 2020 4th round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
Re-tool defense, fill void left by Phaneuf buyout (if that's a void at all). Team is too good to rebuild.
LAK
  1. Schultz, Justin
Additional Details:
Penguins need to dump this salary, and Schultz is too good to keep around. Grundstrom is a great potential two-way 45 point second liner
15.
PIT
  1. 2021 3rd round pick (WPG)
Additional Details:
Need young, cheap depth with upside.
WPG
  1. Simon, Dominik
Additional Details:
Need to fully re-tool roster, will take picks wherever they come.
16.
PIT
  1. 2020 2nd round pick (PIT)
  2. 2022 5th round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
Vegas trades PIT their 2nd back for some MUCH NEEDED cheap top-9 filler.
VGK
  1. Kahun, Dominik
Additional Details:
No interest in Kahun, would like to collect picks
17.
PIT
  1. Boqvist, Adam
  2. Seabrook, Brent
  3. Wise, Jake [Reserve List]
  4. 2021 2nd round pick (CHI)
Additional Details:
Tough price to pay but CHI NEEDS to trade Seabrook's contract.
CHI
Take on cap they won't use, get guy to mentor young dmen, and collect assets on the way. Classic move for a rebuilding team.
    18.
    OTT
OTT pays a TON to get Bobby Ryan's contract off the books. Melnyk is genuinely that desperate. We get a HUGE potential top-pairing defenseman in Brannstrom, a prolific scorer in Abramov, and a responsible, two-way potential 3C in Chlapik.
