Description
Meier is low-balled here to make the cap work. If Dell can be somehow traded to somewhere, you can give better value bridge contract, but I doubt any team even wants to talk about Dell and his contract.

Same goes with Thornton. Thornton really does deserve more but I think he is going to be one of the last guys to sign a contract. But there's also a chance he's retiring. Then you can maybe put Gambrell/Chmelevski as a 3rd line center.

I'd like to get a third rounder for Braun but his value drops a bit due to San Jose's big need to trade him. Picks #124 and #204 is a pretty fair package for Braun.

Labanc for Bertuzzi is fair trade also, I think. Bertuzzi brings the defensive and checking side to the game which DeBoer values. Bertuzzi also has some upside to his game and he can be moved up and down in the lineup in case of need. Labanc then again can bring a big boost to Detroit's offensive game, especially on the power play. He can be the primary playmaker on the first unit and he has a really deceptive shot that can beat any goaltender. I think both teams can benefit from this trade. San Jose's main point is the cap hit.

If the trade value is off, please make some change suggestions but be decent with your comments.

Actually, if I were a Detroit fan even I wouldn't like to see this trade happen. Bertuzzi is an intriguing player. Those kind of players don't grow in trees. But his skill set and what he brings on the ice would be perfect in the Sharks.

If Sharks are trading with Detroit, I want Athanasiou or Mantha.

Don't know if you can get either one with Labanc. Maybe with picks. I just see both being Detroit's core guys going forward. Both had good years, especially Mantha in WC.

This is the third time I've seen that same argument in the last month. It's why Detroit isn't letting him go. He fits in very well with Larkin and Mantha.
