Description
This is my dream off season. Not sure if the trade is realistic, personally I think Barrie (with an extension) for Nylander straight up is pretty fair, maybe favors Toronto based on how well Barrie's been down the stretch and with how poor Nylander's production has been this year. Still love Nylander's talent though. Added Barberio and Nieto for some roster consolidation, figured Nieto is in an expiring contract so that'd be more appealing than Calvert and Barberio's an expiring too plus Toronto can use another NHL caliber defenseman. Wanted to try and get Kaut a spot on the NHL roster but didn't work out, felt like I would have been fine with Kerfoot walking until the way he's played down the stretch. Contracts seem like they'd line up perfectly with Bowers replacing Soderberg following next season.

Counter offer (that I've posted a couple times)
To Colorado:
William Nylander
TOR 2020 2nd round pick

To Toronto:
Tyson Barrie (signs 7 year/$6.75M AAV)
AJ Greer
COL 2020 4th round pick

Deal is only done if Barrie signs the extension. Do you think he'd sign for that?

Pass on Toronto's end. We're getting a lot older for a talent decrease and paying the higher pick. Unless Greer is a high end prospect large pass

talent decrease? Tyson Barrie is a 60 point Dman. He puts up the same offensive numbers as Nylander.

I think he could get more if he went to FA. It's tough to say. He's a great part of the team right now and I believe he likes Colorado. I think he would sign that to resign with the Avs but he could easily get at least 7 in FA. How often does a consistent 50 point D get to free agency? Look at what Shattenkirk got and Barrie is better.

The more I think about it, the more I want the Avs to resign him. The top 6 forward we need is coming in this draft and should be able to step in next season.

I think he'd probably need about 7.5-8, but I think adding Greer sweetens the pot for Toronto, think he'll be a solid bottom 6 guy in the league and they'll need some cheap talent with the Tavares/Matthews/Marner deals and whenever Reilly comes up.
