You massively missed what Vrana and Connolly are going to make, and inflated Hagelin.

Connolly and Hagelin are seriously overpaid. Djoos probably won’t sign for that little money for that long and you’re basically trading Niskanen for a 4th.

No reason to trade Vanecek for nothing. He'll be a good goalie.

A 20-goal scorer who's virtually played zero time on the power play is overpaid at $2.8M? I'm not sure I agree. There's going to be a team out there with depth scoring issues that's going to throw money at him. If the Caps can get him at $2.8M over 4 years, I'd be ecstatic.

I agree that Hagelin is overpaid here. He doesn't really score too much, but is a great PKer and energy guy. If he signs for around $1.8-2.1M for 2-3 years, I think that's a good investment. His speed will be an asset, and he can move up and down the lineup if you need him to.

I think Djoos will be in the $1.5M range, but not for 4 years. $1.5M over 2 sounds fair, and is a higher figure than what Bowey, a 2nd round pick got in his first RFA contract.

Overall though, I don't think trading Burakovsky and Vanecek makes a ton of sense. Especially for that return.
