Does Chicago still end up with Strome if you entirely remove the draft lottery? Strome would have been either an Oiler or a Hurricane, and I can't say for sure that his development goes the same way with either of those teams. The cynic in me says Strome probably ends up worse off in Edmonton, but probably reaches his potential sooner in Carolina.

He would be an Oilers and most likely yes, but probably acquire him in the Manning trade, which means that Schmaltz would be in Edmonton.
