If this Elliott for Talbot trade happens, Fletcher is an idiot. There has to be something more to it. But then again, Fletcher loves making pointless trades!

Both contracts expire at end of the year don't they? I'll take a free 3rd round pick to have Talbot sit on the bench.

Just saw on TSN it is actually being discussed per Dreger. Oilers need to free up cap room to get Sekera off IR. We have the room so we may as well take on the extra cap space and snag a pick.

Talbot has no trade value. He makes $4,000,000 and he is UFA at season's end.

They will have to eat 50 % of his salary which makes no sense.

Elliot who makes $1,300,000 less than Talbot and also is an UFA at season's end. The Oilers will have to give something up.
