David Ettedgui saying Montreal targeting Holtz for Struble and 5th
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>Tony Marinaro on his podcast:
“There’s been a lot of talk about one guy, Alexander Holtz. And I can tell you, one team wants him badly, and I mean BADLY, because I'm sure there's a couple of teams that would take him. The Montreal Canadiens want Alex Holtz BADLY. Believe me when I tell you that. They’re not trading Nick Suzuki and they’re probably not trading Cole Caufield. I don’t know how much they’d be willing to give up, but they’re offering some players right now. I’m talking about defenceman Kaiden Guhle, defenseman David Reinbacher, forward Juraj Slafkovsky. They want Alexander Holtz BADLY, and it doesn’t mean it will be a ‘one-vs-one’ deal. They will spice it up by throwing in other players or picks, but I can tell you right now, based on what I’m hearing, that the Canadiens want Holtz BADLY.”</div></div>
This going over everyones heads is so funny

I would drive Holtz to Montreal for the deal in this thread. I’d turn it down for the actual deal.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>Levshunov is more of a 200 foot two-way player than Yakemchuk, who is really just offensive player in o-zone and struggles defensively. And Simashev is a lefty.
Catton, Dickinson, Silayev all available at #10 is like best case scenario for NJD. I’d love it.
Carter George in first round could be Tyler Boucher-esque whiff. At least take Yegorov, Moysevich or Nabokov.</div></div>
I'd rather take George than Nabokov or Moysevich. But taking either George or Yegorov feels like too much of a reach in the first round. Not quite a Tyler Boucher-esque whiff since it's not as high of a pick but it'd be the closest thing to it since.
Poirier would be an interesting pick... I certainly hope the Caps go with someone else.
Dickinson at #14 would be a crazy slip.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>I don’t think Kuemper is a 50-start, $5m+ number one anymore. I think presenting him as 30-start, $3m tandem goalie would be far easier sell.
The other point I forgot to include was that Fitzy has paid for playoff experience before (Marino, Haula, Palat, Allen) with his veteran additions…Kuemper would likely apply there (2022).</div></div>
I agree with you - I think Kuemper is at best a tandem goalie at this point in his career. The caps should've given him at least a start in the playoffs to let him have a chance to revitalize his career like Bobrovsky.

Interesting but now that Disco Dan is the HC in Seattle I can't see them moving Daccord or Kart's based on how they performed under him at the AHL. I think there is more incentive to move Gru and Tanev at this point.

Why not
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>We would like to keep Holtz, if we can.
The #10/Daws for #13/Gustavsson trade was probably more fitting for New Jersey. If a good defensive dman were added, maybe Holtz gets added.
I did a <a href="https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/5179171">#10 Holtz for #13 Gus and Hunt trade</a> recently. Lambos, Peart probably work in that scenario too. If Wild were willing to add Brodin, could swap that in for #13 and Hunt.
And if you really want to make it a blockbuster, add Foligno to deal (I am not sure on NTC nor his cost). But that would allow the Devils to do all their Fitzmas shopping in one stop.</div></div>
I did like the #10+Holtz for #13+Gus+Hunt trade proposal. I was just exploring an option where the Devils would not need to pick swap 10 and 13.
I could see the Wild trading Hunt. I don’t see the Wild trading Peart (I think he is NHL ready) or Lambos (selling low).

-Another 3/4bottom C who can take FOs
-A LHD who is on a 1 year and can bridge Luke for at least 1 more year
-Replace 2/3 of bottom line and 1/3 of 3rd line. 6 footers @ least! Have to be guys who get their noses dirty.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>So what do they do with him? Wait six months? That is a lot of cap to keep on the sidelines. There should be some sort of negotiated mid point.</div></div>
If you mean Nichushkin, they can use his cap space if they choose. Everybody thinks he’s coming back in November and that isn’t necessarily the case that’s just the earliest he can apply for reinstatement. Personally I think he has played his last game in COL, and at the most recent presser CMC talked generally about it. I think they were looking to terminate his contract before they found out they couldn’t. So I think they are going to use all of his cap space. Landy is different. He was at the presser and he said his come back time was some time between the start of the season and April so I think they use some of his money but not all. That’s part of the reason I don’t think they trade Colton, he plays center and if they have to they can play him at wing in the top 6. Regardless I think COL is shopping at the prove it bin again looking for guys that want to win or want a second chance. The good news it’s wingers they are looking for and not centers like season.

I would want to trade the 2nd pick for an elite forward like Kaapo Kakko
He showed up big for the Rangers in the playoffs, especially in that game 6 elimination game
