Philadelphia Flyers signed Ivan Fedotov (2 Years / $3,275,000 AAV)
Cap going up why not. If thats the cost for him to come over from Russia sure. if he can be a capable backup for like 5 seasons then thats fine. Hopefully he can actually play in the NHL lmao. Guy gets paid. Flyers are still rebuilding. We ball

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>A_Habs_fan</b></div><div>He's played 3 NHL games and has a .811 in them, what???</div></div>
From Anthony DiMarco :
<em>I know the Fedotov AAV is higher than expected, but the contract was agreed upon prior to the player coming over from Russia.
I'm told that the contract had to be a certain number to get Fedotov to come to North America.
Not ideal, but understandable given the circumstances.</em>

Back for Strome
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Prime_Jimbo</b></div><div>Strome is 30 and won't be a part of the future when Anaheim's prime window is in full flight. Raty is a solid prospect who may enter his prime years when it is Anaheim's window. Blueger can fill in for C with Strome exiting. They get additional assets in the Myers flip noted.
Do you want more?</div></div>
I just don’t see a point in dealing Strome for that return is what it is
He is doing exactly what was hoped when he was given that contract

Its certainly risky, but its about par for the course in the modern NHL. You pay for what you think a player will do over the term of the deal - not what theyve done so far.
Clearly they like him. I'm not totally convinced myself though.
Edit: I think I'm going to vote yes for the same reason I voted No on Miro's deal.
OTT sucks, so there is little opportunity cost lost by locking him up compared to bridging.
Still don't see how he could have gotten much more if they waited a year though, and that would have helped lower the risk a tad
