2024 Contenders
NSH declines. 2 reasons
1. NSH's center situation is really bad. Moving Sissons without getting another center back makes this hard to do. Maybe seeing a NSH perspective where that gets addressed then maybe I'd be more open to the deal, but in this vacuum, I can't in good conscious move Sissons.
2. Saros nor Marner aren't getting moved until after July 1st because neither can sign extensions until then and this trade doesn't occur unless extensions are in place for both, so any picks for the 2024 draft are off the table as it doesn't make sense

NSH declines. Just signed Novak and he has a pretty permanent spot in the middle six of the team, if not just being stapled to the 2nd line. Not trading him.
Fabbro though, I would be open to hearing deals for

I feel like the bigger issue with the deal is the moving of Sissons. I'd rather hang onto him, especially given the center weakness NSH has had. Maybe if we had already made other deals or signings to bring in other centers then sure, but in this vacuum I can't do that in good conscious

Realistic Adjustments
Both teams hang up on you and block your number.
SEA declines because Marner isn't going to move the needle enough for SEA to compete in their current status. They are not in a state to truly compete at least for a couple more years, in which time they will need upgrades in goal and on RD, not the forward core, especially with forwards like Goyette, Firkus, Nami, and Sale, who are all projecting top 6. Additionally, McCann has already come out and said he would kill any deal that would send him back to TOR via his M-NTC given how he was handled by TOR previously.
NSH counters with Matthews for a 6th.
Though in all seriousness, NSH declines because this is a ludicrously bad return for a top 5 goalie in the league. You don't get a top 5 goalie for a bunch of cap dumps. There are a plethora of other trades on this site that have seriously proposed Saros and a 1st for Marner, and that would be something NSH is expecting. It has already been speculated that Saros gets a similar contract to Sorokin or Helleybuck, and his numbers before this year would support that. Saros had a hard time this year transitioning from coach changes because he got to play in Hynes's defensive system and was then thrown into Burnette's hyper offensive system the following year and it hurt his numbers, but his second half of the season (after the all-star break) showed that he adjusted and had .912 SV% over that time which is more in line with his numbers. That said, even a .912% is low for Saros, which is saying something as that is still above league average (.908 I believe was league average this year). His career average is a .917, including this bad year, excluding this year that average jumps to .919, which is BETTER than Helleybuck over that same period of time. Saros also has the same workload as Helleybuck, playing in over 60 games a season, so the asking price to acquire Saros is going be similar to the asking price for Helleybuck.

SEA declines. Already have too many goalies that are backup quality or worse. If SEA is trading for a goalie it will be for a goalie upgrade

If Saros gets moved, which is already highly unlikely, NSH will want at least one player/nearly ready bluechip prospect as part of the return. NSH's preference would be for them to be either a center or a RD and LA just doesn't have either of those that NSH would be interested in.

100% agree on Turcotte, but I'd rather move Tomasino as part of a deal for a bigger piece (e.g. Necas). With Parssinen waiting in the wings and still having Sissons it feels like the bottom 6 centers are set, especially while NSH still has Glass. Not really sure where NSH puts Turcotte if we were to get him.

Tomasino hasn't broken through because he has been in Burnette's doghouse. Burnette and Trotz said he has the skill, just lacking maturity, and that is why he is in the AHL right now.
If LA wants the skill, Tomasino has it, it's more about the change of scenery because if Tomasino can't get out of the doghouse after being spoiled by Hynes, then it might be better for NSH to move on from him. It sucks for NSH, but it might be best for both player and team.

SEA declines. Not about value or anything. SEA isn't in a position to truly compete right now and trading that much for Marner isn't going to truly move the needle enough to let SEA compete. Would rather just hang onto McCann and Borgen.
Also, it has been reported McCann will kill any deal that would send him back to TOR

Goyette is closer to 2 years out. Likely needs to spend at least 1 year in the AHL before transitioning to the NHL, but he has the skill set to make it in the NHL, just needs a bit more time.

I think NSH would be pretty ok with a straight swap of Tomasino for Chychrun. With NSH having a war chest of wing prospects it makes sense for NSH to move on from at least one of them. Even without Tomasino, NSH still has Evangelista, Kemell, and Wood all in system. Chychrun feels like a good fit for NSH by being a good mid-point between Josi and Molendyk in terms of age and can help make Molendyk's transition to the NHL in a couple of years a bit easier.

NSH likely does that trade, but make it TBL's 2025 pick instead. If NSH is giving up a 1st as part of the deal they will want an extension in place for Chychrun and since he can't sign anything till July 1st it doesn't make sense to move that much ahead of time. Other than that, I'm fine with the deal.

NSH declines. Not moving Evangelista as part of any deal. It isn't about the value, but Evangelista is part of NSH's future at this point and asking NSH to move Evangelista is like asking TOR to move Knies. Additionally, no deal is going to happen involving Marner before the draft, so 2024 picks would be off the table.
Saros is still a big maybe. We won't know what that looks like until after July 1st as well, as Saros isn't eligible to sign an extension until then either.

SEA declines. Not about the value, but I just believe that would be poor asset management on SEA's part. SEA's defensive pipeline is already really bad and giving up their best prospect on D plus their top 10 pick, which they are likely planning on using to draft a D-man, is not really setting the team up for future success.
SEA isn't in a state where they can truly compete right now, so giving up that much future for Marner isn't going to move the needle enough to get them to be at a level where they can consistently compete for the cup.

Okay Nashville
NSH would 100% accept that deal, but I don't think TOR would be too happy with that return. Sissons is a decent middle six forward with a strong defensive game and Lauzon is a 3rd pair defenseman. Even with NSH taking on cap dumps from TOR as part of the payment, I would think that TOR would want more quality in exchange for someone like Marner, likely in the form of either a current lineup player or a prospect who is expected to make the NHL next year full time (e.g. Tomasino)
