Better get Swayman locked up before you start getting into that war lol, because I'd expect that's the offer sheet that comes right back

I think you’d be just as skeptical of Bahl as we would Wotherspoon</div></div>
I agree with that. I think we're pretty much on the same page on this one,
Wotherspoon had a very good year this year, but concerns about if he can repeat it
Bahl can be a number 5/6 with limited upside to turn into a defensive number 4 at best. I think we're on the same page about his flaws, limitations, and strengths, and areas to grow.
And that he isn't a fit next to Peeke. Boston would probably have to play him alongside McAvoy or Carlo for him to be at his best, and then he'd be playing a quantity of minutes that would be better suited going to Lindholm and Lohrei.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Celtics21</b></div><div>I think I’ve had this discussion with you in the past. I believe there are a lot of guys in the AHL who can produce at the same level of a lot of “prospects”. Him and Brazeau are prime examples of that point.
Wotherspoon’s play has me believing in his capabilities as a 7th D man. Probably want a player better than Bahl for our 6th opposite Peeke. Certainly want a player with more pick skills opposite him.
Peeke also looked very good after the acquisition from Columbus</div></div>
I'd agree with all of that.
Obviously skeptical and would need to see more from Wotherspoon for me to trust him as a 6D, but as a 7D I'd give him that shot. And I'd agree that Bahl's skillset would be somewhat obsolete in Boston alongside Peeke. You'd almost need to play Bahl alongside either Carlo or McAvoy, but you likely don't want to be giving bahl the minutes that requires

I agree with both these takes.
But we're talking about a 27 year old career AHLer. How much faith do we truly have in Wotherspoon going into next year? He was a pleasant surprise, but as a betting man I don't think I'd have faith in him repeating it

Wotherspoon had shockingly good results in his NHL stint, but I don't think he can be trusted to do that all year. Bahl imo would be an upgrade on him, but the fit doesn't work

Yeah I really question the fit there. If they didn't get Peeke sure, but with Peeke, Bahl seems redundant

I'd pass on that jets deal. If nashville would accept that I'd do it, but it would cost more to dump Palat's deal

I think Daws would be the 1 to go.
Allen the short term stopgap, Schmid the long term starter (backup if we sign Saros long term), Daws the odd man out

The atrocious passing, the lapses he has, and the terrible discipline far outweigh those currently though.

Something like that in terms of value.
I think Carolina will have a multitude of suitors offering very similar packages, and it will come down to the prospect/young player that their scouting department prefers

I think it would be something like a pick in the 20s/2025 1st+Gritysuk, and then it depends what Carolina prefers in terms of prospects/secondary assets from what teams are offering that is what they take.

I think Necas is a very good player. He just didn't have the production of debrincat, who was scoring at a 45 goal 82 point/82 game pace the previous 2 years. The goalscoring and point production gap cannot be explained by linemates alone
I have him at that star- tier.
Fiala, Trouba, Reinhart, Debrincat (to detroit)

Why would Necas return anything close to debrincat to Ottawa? Debrincat had paced for 40+ goals and 80+ points a year over the previous 3 years. Necas isn’t close to that

Yeah I don't think they'd be available either, but I think Lohrei would likely be the secondary ask by Carolina if you want necas.

Ahh yes, I thought you were missing someone but I couldn’t remember who. I don’t think about Silayev much because he’s not one of the “big 3” at the top in Celebrini, Lev, or demidov, but also has 0 chance of falling to our pick at 10

At that point, if not trading down, I guess we just take one of the wingers (Connelly, Iginla, MBN). But I would be tempted to grab Jiricek, Emery, Boisvert.</div></div>
Iginla is going to go top 9 imo and leave 1 of those 10 for us to take

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BruinsWoahWoah</b></div><div>Disagree - he would immediately be one of the top offensive players on the team. Outside of this year, his other seasons were closer to 45 and 46% at the dot... just don't put him on the face-off in key defensive situations. IMO Zacha-Necas-Pasta would be one of the best lines in hockey.
Jack Hughes has never topped 40% at the dot and he still plays center. You can work around it: Coyle, Beecher, Geekie, Zacha, Poitras... there are enough guys who can win a faceoff in key situations.</div></div>
Jack Hughes plays center tho. He just can’t win faceoffs.
Necas can’t win faceoffs and ALSO isnt a center

Value wise yeah but I think to be the winning bid you’d have to replace Merkulov, Lauko, 2nd and 3rd with 1 more valuable piece worth a pick around 29-35. From NJD I’d consider that like a Gritysuk. Maybe for Boston that’s Lysell or Lohrei. I think Poitras would be a tier above that but idk about his injury impact on value.
