I mean he literally did lol it's just a fact. And any other fanbase would feel the exact same way getting spurned by a top 5 pick like that..

(ANA/PHI) - Drysdale, 2025 2nd (ANA) for Gauthier
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>kaljakori</b></div><div>I think it's actually great prospects with leverage do this. Would you work at a place that makes you miserable based on some arbitrary honor code? I don't think you would. Most prospects are fine going where they're drafted to, but if they simply don't want to be there, the leverage is an asset they can use. Also it's not like this is unheard of. Lindros and Fox pop to mind immediately.</div></div>
Man wouldn't it be something if all the high picks that take the NCAA route did this? Fantilli forces his way out of garbage Columbus. Will Smith says no thanks to San Jose's horrible team. Come to think of it it wouldn't even have to be NCAA players, it could be anyone. Bedard says nope not going to a rebuilding team, don't like the coach or GM situations or blah blah blah and you think this is good thing for the NHL? I strongly disagree....

Ottawa Senators signed Jake Sanderson (8 Years / $8,050,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CBA</b></div><div>Maybe I’m just bias but I can’t see Sanderson play going downhill. Maybe he’ll just be worth it or overpaid by 1M or 2 max</div></div>
Maybe he'll be worth it or overpaid by 1-2m!? This is not the position a team is supposed to be in 1 year into a players career. That's why it's risky, because he basically has to become elite in order to make this contract a bargain. Teams are supposed to "save" money on these deals eventually, but this one seems, like you said, to just "hopefully" be worth it down the line. There's just over 10 dmen in the entire NHL that make more money. He's being thrust into elite status with very little experience. A sophomore slump, which happens quite frequently, could really make this deal look bad in the short term. But I do still like Jake's long term outlook.

(CAR/PHI) - Rizzo, 2025 5th (CAR) for Kase
Wondering how exactly this happened? I understand this was the trade rumored before the NHL shot it down and all that. But what I'm wondering is why Carolina seems ok giving this guy up for essentially nothing? I've seen a few people saying he wasn't interested in signing in Carolina which seems at least a little strange to me. Is it possibly the other way around? And he wants to sign right now but Carolina is not interested? I guess we'll see if Briere signs him?

I always feel sorry for Cal in this respect. He has like size 14 skates or something crazy like that. Have to think that hindered his skating development.

I voted no. because he's quite literally awful at playing goalie. therefore it can't be a "good" signing...

(PIT/MTL/SJS) - Granlund, Rutta, Petry, DeSmith, Légaré, 2024 1st (PIT), 2025 2nd (PIT) for Pitlick, Hoffman for Karlsson, Hamaliuk, 2026 3rd (SJS)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KennyBoi</b></div><div>Wait a sec, so the only thing of value SJS got from PIT is a top10 protected 1st for Karlsson? What a horrendous trade for Mike Grier. I understand he can flip the guys he got, but still, PIT was up against the cap and should've paid to unload those contracts. Feel like he could've gotten more despite Karlsson's huge contract.</div></div>
This idea that he was going to bring in a boat load of a return was never a real possibility in my opinion. What there's been 2 teams interested? Pittsburgh and Carolina. Making the money work was obviously the most crucial part of the trade with the flattened cap and most teams with no wiggle room. I Think Grier did pretty well to get a first for him as I didn't think a team would give one up UNLESS they were taking back a bad contract and retaining. I mean the best dmen in the league make like 2-3 million less than him lol he was never bringing back much with that contract and his age.

To be fair I'm quite certain Michkov wanted nothing to do with the Arizona Coyotes, and likely expressed that directly to them. It's even a possibility the Flyers were the first team Michkov gave the "okay" to. Either way I'm happy about it though lol..

True they will need a few more cheap forwards but this gives them some extra trade capital to potentially acquire someone like Konecny or maybe even Debrincat. They'll have close to 15.6m to spend with only 1 hole in the top 6. Maybe they don't land a big fish but I'd actually be surprised if they keep their first rounders this year. They should be all in trying to win during the MacKinnon era.

I've been on the fence about the Giroux trade from the start. And now I can comfortably say CF actually did a pretty good job when you consider everything. Thanks KD, although I do think he was put in a pretty tough spot..

A bright spot with the Phantoms this season for sure. But does this signing mean a potential call up for a Flyers team struggling to find something/anything right now? Now that I'm saying it though, I'm not sure it's even possible with the covid stuff and taxi squads...
