Through his first ten game segment, as a Toronto Maple Leaf, Reaves is playing to his physical identity. He's attempting to keep opponents honest / not take liberties on any of his team mates.
Some issues have come to the surface however.
His ability to track up and down the ice, at NHL pace, is being exposed at times.
He's also not extending enough plays down low in the offensive zone when he has possession.
More alarming is the fact, despite only averaging 7:49 TOI, he's a (-6).
Monitor if he can have more impact overall. Including simple detail on and off the puck while playing to his physical identity.
He can't be a liability defensively, or his role becomes less worthwhile.
If he can find a way to produce average defensive results his intimidating element becomes more valuable.
