Roberston had a fantastic training camp in the fall with the Leafs, but found himself part of the cap crunch the team was faced with, ending up with the Marlies at the AHL level to start the season. When he did get his chance with the Leafs he averaged 11:00 TOI at even strength and the power-play - producing 14G-13A.
Roberston is an undersize play driver. He's quick off the rush and possesses a fantastic release. He's programmed to have a role higher in the lineup, but his progression has been slow to arrive. On balance he did show signs of becoming a potential 20(+) goal scorer if provided more ice time and games.
