Honestly at this point, I just want to say yes to get this to stop.

Still don't want Marner as he's not a fit at all. But at this point just do it and if he doesn't want to resign send him elsewhere at the deadline half retained

(Yes I'm aware this offer is a joke anyway... and if not intentionally a joke... then.. well....)

I'd take it, retain half on Marner and talk Utah into giving up #6 or Simashev for him.

What makes you think Marner would extend with Utah? There's no way they'd offer that unless he comes with an extension at an AAV they're happy with.

Teams in new towns tend to attempt big splashes. But it was more a general concept with a feasible example than a fully formed trade idea anyway.

Yeah they probably will try to make a big splash. I just don't see them doing it with Marner.
