Why would Philly want Huberdeau? As a Flames fan I can't see anyone taking him

Just buy out Petersen. His buyout cap hit is only $1M this season and $2M next season.

And there lies the end of the conversation. Calgary has zero interest in paying to move Huberdeau. He's keeping them above the cap floor at the very least

If it involves paying to move Huberdeau it will probably be a resounding no but I'll hear you out. What is it?

Considering that the Flyers missed the playoffs, Flyers need to shake up their roster and I doubt they're trading their captain Couturier. Would you rather have Huberdeau at $10,500,000 per year or Konecny at arounds 7,500,000 - $8,000,000 per year? I would assume he signs long term if he were traded to CGY. Huberdeau would be a terrific fit in Philly change in scenery. Conroy inherited Huberdeau and he's sorta looking at a rebuild or a retool.

He's a 3rd line Dman prospect. One more year in Arizona State then maybe an NHLer. Habs have cap space to burn and acquiring a prospect in this trade is fine for MTL.

nah just pull the bandaid off with a trade to a team with cap space and include a prospect in the deal. $0 is what Philly wants they're a cap celling team.

haha he's a 3rd line Dman prospect nothing burger. Give him to MTL and let him find his game in Laval. Philly clears the space to be aggressive this year and fix the team a little

He probably wouldn't even play in Laval, with the number of LDs the habs have. Habs aren't just gonna be nice and take cap space for pretty much nothing. Think Monahan.

I would much rather have Konecny at 7.5-8 million than Huberdrau at 10.5 million. Konecny is over 3 years younger, would have a better contract and produces more points. Huberdeau's contract is one of the worst in the whole league and would also make the roster older which is the opposite what you do in a rebuild.
