I'd rather hold on to Laine in hopes of a rebound for now than to take on the KK anchor. 28OA and a bottom six winger don't make up the difference for me (and I like Fast a lot).

I do think Laine could be a fantastic fit with CAR. If I were CBJ, I’d be exploring making something work, even with retention.

But yes - Fast is an expiring B4 guy, and JK is a B6 with too much term (I.e. the opposite). The 1st is going to be late, so solid but just OK.

No on this one. We are not in the business of taking cap dumps. We are trying to make the playoffs. Doing this trade would only strengthen Carolina and sink the Jackets.
