Created by: DerpNation
Team: 2024-25 Calgary Flames
Initial Creation Date: May 12, 2024
Published: May 12, 2024
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Minor moves to stay somewhat competitive with adding more draft assets on the expectation theyre likely not a playoff team for a few years as the younger prospects continue to develop including Wolf. Vets can be moved as their deals start to expire over the next few years to make room for prospects and potential free agent signings.

Changed the Markstrom trade based on input.

These trades are far from, Marky alone doesn't even get you the Devils 1st round pick, and especially because he's aging too

Don't see Detroit having interest in that. Copp gets an the defensive assignments, we need him.

I think that the first 2 trades heavily favor the Flames. As other's he mentioned Markstrom(50%) + 1st 24'(VAN) for 1st 24'(NJD) is more realistic in my eyes.

Mangiapane with retention is probably worth around a 2nd.

I would rather avoid taking on Copp for 3 years for a 2nd. I could see a similar move on the blueline.

Yes because two higher level prospects for Markstrom at $3.5m AAV while your team pushes for a cup is way off.

Maybe it's their 2025 first instead. The flames will want a first+ for Markstrom with enough retention to drop him under $4m AAV.

Then good luck getting that from a team Markstrom is willing to waive for.

I don't think the Nashville one is that far off in a vacuum. Mange at 50% absolutely has value, and Glass is literally a healthy scratch for them. The issue is Mange is not the type of forward they need.

Don't see Detroit paying to move Copp, he's effective for them

Or you Devils fans could try offering fair value for the players your team desperately needs and wants instead of trying to steal them all the time.

Don't say "you"... I have been blatantly clear I do not want him at all. I can't do anything about any of the rest. I hope you go and get a 1st from LAK or whomever...but I don't see what team offers anything close to what you ask for.

I would much rather get Gustavsson from MINN and have had very cordial and nice conversations with those fans. I'd rather not deal with CGY fans again mainly thanks to you.

I've actually muted many of the Devil fans you speak of because I think they are ridiculous even dealing with it just to bring out the fury from you.

I love having discussions with Boston fans about Ullmark, and even the far fetched discussions about swayman I’ve enjoyed.

Flames fans simply want ridiculous prices for their 6 mill 35 year old goalie who’s been sub 0.900 over the last 2 years

I can deal with BOS fans that are fine with the 2025 pick when an extension can be confirmed. The 2024 10th overall pick crowd is just on something as it can't come with any guaranteed contract.

Think Yzerman likes Copp a lot more than that.

Ya, it was more of an idea to retain salary to get some added draft capital.

Wings might want to add with signings and Copp being a 5+m player as a 25 pt 3rd liner might not help with that.

Idea is swapping cap space for a player that can add more. Mangi would be 400k more than Glass, while giving up a potential later 1st.

Preds might be more in the boat of wanting assets over trying to add to possibly make a push though.

Good luck with Jake Allen next year.

Hope your 2025 first round pick isn't top 10 again when your team is supposed to be pushing for a cup smile

Nashville is more likely to take a big swing to compete while they have Josi tbh.

As for Mange, he's just not really what they need. What Nashville needs is a star 1st liner to play with Forsberg. I see them as one of the teams going hard after Marner, or maybe Necas.

Yes, Jacob "I was worse than Jake Allen since the trade deadline" Markstrom was the guy to save us....

No one is saying Allen is the only guy, just that Markstrom (and for that matter Gibson) ain't it.

Hmm...

Something around Saros for Necas and Andersen?
