No way the Leafs get Provorov after his anti Pride day display.
The Toronto community will oppose him too strongly.

You don't know Jarnrok obviously, he is not a 4th liner, he is a utility player (play anywhere in the lineup), he can be a short term top 6 forward if needed.
Respectfully.

RUN IT BACK FOR OPENING NIGHT WITH CRAIG BERUBE
I think Tanev gets $5 million on a 2 yr deal, $4.5 sounds good if you want to commit to 4 yrs.
I don't think you can give Liljgren a 2 yr deal, I believe that'll end in UFA as he'd be 27 yrs old at the end of that contract.
I give both Robertson and Dewar a contract under $1.15 million on short term because that is the max amount a player can get buried in the Ahl with without a cap penalty' like Reaves and McMann would be 200K to bury.
I guess we should look at ex Flames or ex Blues players to reunite with Trev and Berube. I was hoping Ex Flame/Leaf Riititch would hit UFA but he's staying a King.
Robertson is on the bubble, hard to imagine he fit into a Berube style of game.
I too hope a rookie makes the team, the competitiveness of rookies usually keeps the vets on their toes.

Vladar is good option, if he is healthy and the Flames have faith in Wolfe or want to tank next season by trading both Markstrom and Vladar and use career jouneyman backup goalies to insure they get a Top 3 pick next summer in the Draft.

Berube will love Marner, he is elite on offensive and defensive and is a top powerplay and penalty killer. Plus is creates turnovers.

Wrong, It'll be easier and less painful to bang my head off a wall than try to hold a conversation with you and your tainted opinions which you believe are facts.
Here's a fact, 17 (actually 18 since Tre added Lyubushkin just like Dubas had) players who played in the playoffs for the Leafs were leftovers from Dubas.
So when you think you are knocking Tre's team, you are in fact knocking Dubas team.

If treliving knew how to identify tallent, maybe they'd have got some secondary scoring that wouldn't disappear the second matthews got hurt and sick snd they couldn't ride his coatails, or get some pk guys who could actually kill penalties so they didnt get ruined there for all the dumb penalties his 'key' forward additions took.</div></div>
Good night

Yea it sucks that Tre's signings of Bert and Domi and trades for Edmundson and Lyubushkin ended up being key players in the playoffs.

The Bert money should be spent on a Dman upgrade, there are plenty of cheap wingers who can play with Matthews, heck I recall Matthews starting his career with Johnsson and Kapanen as his wingers.
Even Sundin made do with crappy wingers, Hoglund and Stumpy than Antropov and Ponikovski.

Well I'm sure if the Caps save $14 million in cap space for the summer of 2025 Marner may just sign with the highest bid rather than giving a hometown discount to a personal favorite team/city of his.

Marners buyout
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Stavros99</b></div><div>This is a prime example of why we can't have nice things in Toronto. Fans and media here can be the absolute worst. While his choice of words might not have been perfect, anyone with half a brain should see he was trying to say something positive about how much love players get here, not implying in any way that he's God lol. It's crazy that some fans are jumping all over him for this.
This team has had an embarrassment of riches in talent like we've never seen in Leafs history. It's beyond idiotic to want to tear it all down for stupidity. Other changes, like coaching adjustments and improving the defense and other minor changes, will more than suffice to get this team over the hump. Trading away superstar talent because of some dumb sound bite taken way out of context is beyond cray cray.</div></div>
What gets me is the fans that believe if the Leafs can fully get rid of Marner's $11 million salary they can spend it all on 2 or 3 depth players.
Though let's be honest, if the Leafs trade Marner, the opposing team would have to cash dump a mid price star player and Nylander's $4 million raise will eat up the annual team salary cap hit raise we are finally getting. So in reality trading Marner would only gives the Leafs $5-$6 million to spend on upgrades in other areas while getting weaker on RW depth.
Anyhow fans hate the whole quantity over quality theory, yet that is exactly what these fans want>?

Honestly I think the Caps would be a perfect team for Marner (more likely as an UFA signing) but I can see Marner seeing the opportunity to be on the same ice and potentially get the assist to help Ovie break Gretzky goals scored record would be a Legendary moment for him to be a part of.
I think Marner likes the big cities teams, so Cali, Flo, NY, Dal, Sea, VGK, Nas, Det or Chi would interest him.

darn NMC what now
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>I've said before, can 11m be spent better than one Marner, like two UFA Dman. If so can the Leafs find a team (and Marner agrees) just "gift" to a team.
Didn't the Leafs kinda make their bed by signing that 11.5m Nylander extension.</div></div>
Marner or Nylander should have been traded last summer, but Nylander had a 40 goals scored regular season and was arguable the Leafs best forward in the playoffs, meanwhile Marner had scored 99 points and scored 14 points in 11 playoff games.
The organization was afraid of trading them while the stock was high, believing there'd be a fan or media backlash like when Wendel Clark was traded (which was the right move) for Mats Sundin.
