Flames pass. Huberdeau helps Calgary reach the floor, especially if Markstrom gets traded

Habs pass. I don't think you even know who Barron and Mesar are. Mesar was a 1st rd pick...

I think CGY take that deal and change their phone #. You'd have to send some money back for it ever to work for the Pens, though.

I could see Montreal doing something like this, and the flipping that pick or ours for a player like Zegras

But we'd also be moving up all the way from 25-28ish to 9th overall? We keep saying Montreal has a plethora of prospects but lacks high end/elite guys, trading quantity for quality is in the realm of reality if we want to get better. Losing Mesar does kinda suck cause he's best bud with Slaf but he isn't breaking the OHL and Barron, RHP and Ylonen all look to be depth NHL players so I'd be all over this type of trade if it means we can get a 2nd top 10 pick.

As a Habs fan, I think that I already give up a little bit on Barron. He have a lot of talents, but his confidence on the game just isn't there. About Mesar, seems like he have a bad 2nd half of the season since the WJC. Seems like he just don't really like the North American style of hockey.

But if we need to go foward in the Draft, that's a massive trade package.

9th overall is Eiserman. Mesar is a 3rd line guy at best.

The money works. They still have 2m in cap space.

Teams don't just take on 10-11 million. That would be terrible cap management by Pitt. Two players making 10 who will never be worth it on an aging roster is cap suicide.
