Mock Hronek trades
I like Hronek but the Hurricanes probably need a forward back a trade for Necas... if it was future assets then sure let's talk about a Hronek deal

I don't get Chicago's fans' hatred of Kuzy... sure he's had his problems off the ice but it made him stronger and that's a type of person who'd be a great mentor for Bedard

Shaky playoffs is a bit of an understatement... He couldn't stop slipping and he gave up a bunch of softies. I think this is more about ensuring that PK gets a legit shot at being the starter

No offense to you but I wouldn't say a guy who's scored max points in a season 34 an established second liner... I consider a second liner more in the 55-60 point range

You don't have the prospects or roster pieces to swing Necas

Necas for Ullmark
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac555</b></div><div>You might have a market of about 5-6 teams actually willing to trade for an RFA who needs a contract (this gives 70% of GMs stress farts). You cut that down now because he’s a wing.
Hope I’m wrong.</div></div>
I think you're wrong for few reasons...
1. A bunch of teams is really looking to get over the hump or become relevant and a lot of them have very lucrative prospects or young centers and Necas is a very intriguing option
2. Don usually wins trades
3. We still have a crap ton of leverage... Necas hasn't said that he won't sign and we can always try to fix our problem in-house

But another winger or reclamation project or banking on fewer injuries isn't gonna be particularly palatable in Carolina after the KK experiment

Necas for Ullmark
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac555</b></div><div>Not happening.
Canes ran this to the end of the line, and now the expectations should be a decent pick + roster filling pieces to fill UFA spots.
PLD ruined the market for RFAs with Arb looking for long term deals. Not going to find takers.</div></div>
He's shown a consistent ability to score and doesn't have character issues like PLD... There might be some hesitancy but your probably gonna find a sucker

I'm willing to send some pieces and prospects with Necas but the returning piece shouldn't be less than a top-6 center or a prospect with top-6 potential... Like in Seattle you have three potential options that you could deal for

I think Newhook might be a reclamation project but I don't think that as a base for a Necas trade makes sense... Dach feels like the easiest trade piece considering age, position, and salary

If you take into account that going from 23 to 15 cost 48 and 138, going from 27 to 18 cost around the same. A fair package would hence be : 27, 57, 69, 133 and Engstrom for Necas</div></div>
I would agree with a mostly futures based package if the Hurricanes were in the position that the Kings are but they probably need a roster player at this point of their window

Setting the record straight with Necas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GiggywithGibby</b></div><div>Thinking that's a bit aspirational unless Carolina is adding. Necas needs a new contract and presumably wants to get paid. Add his defensive deficiencies to only having one season past the ~55 point mark is gamble that he's going to open up in a more.free flowing system.
He's probably a fine complimentary winger with his shot and his speed but he's not driving the plays himself, he's riding passenger.</div></div>
He's a very good play driver and I'd be fine paying more if it doesn't come in the form of roster players or our four big prospects
