This is the Detroit idea

Bye trouba and scoring RW1
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lancebmx</b></div><div>We like Ras and just extended him. On a contribution point, I think Ras and Kakko would be about equal. I will agree that Kakko might hold more value based on what would likely be a higher potential. But in terms of what we get, we are basically paying a second to dump Petry but take on a more expensive Trouba. I consider that an upgrade but as of right now the forward would be a slight downgrade potentially, it's really hard to compare the two players.
I really like the idea of Trouba to Detroit but the deal has to be right for us. I don't know if this is it. We fill one hole to create another with worse cap implications and pay on top.</div></div>
Thanks for the clear explanation. I see your point. I feel Detroit feels right for Trouba but then again it’s a business first

Thread:
Bye trouba and scoring RW1
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lancebmx</b></div><div>You can probably get Hutson in your own pick range.
Detroit says no thanks. Trouba to Detroit make some sense but he's expensive and has trade protection. I don't see us paying much, if anything at all for him at his full cap hit. We can sign one of the multiple free agents or just run it back, which is not ideal of course. I would love to take a chance on Kakko but this deal as it stands is not great for Detroit.</div></div>
My reasoning on Detroit trade was based on other posts where I’ve seen Trouba for petry and a 3rd with his full cap hit. I thought that Kakko has slightly more value than Rasmussen so trouba 2024 4th and Kakko for Rasmussen petry and a 2nd was pretty close. But the only way I see it altering is maybe 1 mill retention on trouba or remove the 2nd pick and no retention. Can I get your thoughts?

I must’ve picked the wrong pick. My thinking was 30 and 47 move up to the 16-20 range. Thought the pick was in the range. Sub in any team in that range

Would trouba, 2026 1st, 2024 4th be enough for just Rasmussen? Or some 2 mil retained per year?

It’s more that Othmann is a known playoff performer. His first year in Hartford was great and in juniors he excelled come playoff time. He would fit in well with kreider and mika. Fun little idea to throw around. Also berard plays a fast chippy game which resembles cuylles
