Hasn't progressed much since turning pro, but since he's only 23 and was great in juniors, worth the gamble that he's a late bloomer.

Good 3rd string option. Great numbers in Sweden, but keep in mind he struggled with the Senators last time he was on this side of the ocean.

2nd best defense in the league doesn't need any changes. Top 6 forwards set with addition of Monahan. Not like Toffoli has zero value, but the Jets shouldn't feel the need to spend top assets when the top 6 is already good. If we make any additions it should be depth.

That doesn't make any sense. They're in a playoff spot and have enough cap space from Sergachev's injury to improve the team for the playoffs, why wouldn't they?

Adding for playoff race
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>For $350K more (and probably a lower pick because there's no retention) you could have Anthony Duclair, who I think is a better fit with his speed.
What's the reasoning behind Comrie? Sorokin + Varlamov are locked in at the NHL level and they're using Bridgeport more to develop younger goalies than stash a 3rd. If Varlamov gets hurt, they bring up Appleby for emergencies and ride Sorokin til the wheels fall off; if Sorokin gets hurt, the wheels have already fallen off and it doesn't matter who they call up to be the backup goalie.</div></div>
Appleby got blown out in his one game and hasn't put up great numbers in the AHL, so Comrie seems like a more reliable option both as starter for Bridgeport and as goalie insurance should they need it, which is not too uncommon in the playoffs (if they make).

Don't think Calgary or VGK should have made the move in the first place, but the value seems pretty fair for Calgary if he wasn't resigning.
Don't understand why Vegas adds a defenceman when they need a forward more (i.e., Guentzel).

We don't really need either of these players, but I guess I would take them if offered at that price, at least Toffoli. I'm hesitant about Parayko's long term contract.

The term feels like a lot, but it's definitely outweighed by the fact he wants to be here.
AAV is also under what was expected so that's nice.

Is it too much term? Maybe. But I'm just pumped we finally have core players staying!
The AAV might look bad for the last year or two, but the cap is expected to rise a lot, so I think it'll be fine.
Let's go Jets!
