How Berube elevates performance in playoffs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caerii</b></div><div>I don't think what you think would be brushed aside just because of who you cheer for so long as your proposals don't look like the OP and you stick around and try to have a conversation where you're open to feedback, as you said.
But most interactions with Leafs fans here are such that OP will post a deal like this, and then completely abandon the thread without taking any of the feedback given (and even post a similar deal in about an hour or two), OR will stick around and double down on his proposal without taking any of the feedback given.
It is unfortunate for fans like you, but that really is just the way it is around here, a lot of the time.</div></div>
Yeah I agree, it is occasionally brushed aside, specifically by a couple users which I will not name, but most are very respectful. I try to take every criticism into account and learn and improve, and I am happy to discuss anything, even if I don't agree.
It's unfortunate you & most haven't had great experiences with a lot of Leafs fans on here, I wish I could change that but I am only one person.

Leafs would probably want players for those players, not picks.
That CBJ trade is a hard pass

How Berube elevates performance in playoffs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RazWild</b></div><div>Let me be clear.
It's a relativistic generalization. Sure, it's not all Leafs fans. A few are pretty level-headed and know what the hell they're talking about. Those fans wisdom is both welcomed and appreciated on here.
pahal falls into such a category around here.
The problem is the OTHER 96% of Leafs fans that post asinine BS on here give them the reputation they have on site. It's very much deserved, whether you like it or not.
It is what it is. And this one doesn't help that reputation by any means.</div></div>
I try to be realistic as possible, but bias affects everyone to a point which I try to take into consideration as much as I can.
I just dislike having anything I think be brushed aside due to who I cheer for, I think that is unfair.
However, I do see your side of it as well.
(and yes I don't agree with this ACGM either.)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Cub19</b></div><div>Your right I can see that. Probably do an trade and sign type deal. Warner will probably want 8x11.5</div></div>
Yeah if he were to trade and sign I could see that happening, but it would come down to Marner wanting to go there

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Cub19</b></div><div>Idk how Wright is but do you think Warner can gain more then that or I'd his value down that you'll take whatever</div></div>
I think it comes down to his NMC, since he has that he really gets to choose where he goes which could bring his return down a bit. I also think it depends if SEA were planning to extend Marner as I'm not sure they'd be just interested in a rental.

Mitch to Seattle
I can't see SEA doing this. their current best player in McCann and Larsson PLUS a pick for a year of Marner with 0 retention
I also can't see Leafs doing that STL deal, Leafs give up what looks probably to be their future starter, a first which could get them a good RD prospect and a b-level forward for Binnington

How Berube elevates performance in playoffs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caerii</b></div><div>Maybe, but there's a reason that Leafs and Canadiens threads have the bad reputation they do on here. You guys consistently post deals that are far worse than average, and you do it way more often.</div></div>
That could just be because there's more fans than others so there are more people posting bad trades for those teams than others. I have seen bad takes from every fanbase though.
I just think it's unfair to label all fans under a single category as I personally appreciate criticism when I'm off on valuations.

Yeah that's completely fair, but since his contract is completely buriable it's low risk so who knows

Because it's a Leafs ACGM made by a Leafs fan.</div></div>
Most ACGM's are not accurate there's a reason why most of us aren't in the GM business. It isn't just a Leafs fan issue lol

If everyone is on the table
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Garak</b></div><div>I doubt anyone is paying anything for Timmins. But a late round pick is possible if a team wants to take a flyer on him. CHI, however, would be the last team to do so, and TOR paying or giving him away for FC's is more likely. I'd bet he goes on waivers to start the 24-25 season and goes unclaimed.</div></div>
Fair enough. He's a good player with bad injury luck. I think he could get at least a 7th back and I think one out of 32 teams would put in a claim and take a flyer

New 3v3 league with 30m salary cap
I think that it can never truly take away from the nhl, being 3v3 and 24mins but it will be interesting to watch. I think it could be an opportunity to see some more talent that weren’t being noticed before or that can make another push to get into the NHL.
I think this could be very good for the sport if run correctly. Also, I like how it starts with a 30m cap as that will bring some talent

Leafs Prospects, Draft Picks and More
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aadoyle</b></div><div>Im honestly debating whether TOR should trade the 23 OA pick in a deal to NSH involving Saros
Yes I have loved Elick for a while BUT
TOR needs to go get a starter they can rely on
I know some will say Woll. Woll has shown flashes but here's the issue
Guy cant stay healthy. He played 25 games in the regular season and was not great towards the end. Then come playoffs plays 2 games and hurt himself again
He's basically gotten the label now of being injury prone
How confident should we be this kid can play 41 games 2024-2025 and take us on a long run in the post season.
Goalie market sucks this summer with not many wow candidates
I think we need to go invest in someone and that pick can help us get it done</div></div>
He has one year till UFA. I like Saros but I don't think he's our answer personally.
Also not sure how the cap would work on that. Unless it was an extend and trade I wouldn't give up that much for him

Really wanted Hage, but I doubt he'll be available. Elick is a guy who would be a complete game changer for us. Long term, physical 2RD. Clears the net super well and has a good point shot (granted you won't be relying on him for significant offensive output).
Elick is him</div></div>
Agreed. I wanted the leafs to draft Elick for months now

I don't really see why the Leafs would need to do this. They need more prospects, and there is a bunch of UFAs who could fill the same role for cheaper
