Elite transitional 'D'
Risk / reward at times but generally recognizes when to take chances
Capable defender. Not heavy. Area defender who relies on active stick / body positioning and out-thinking his opponent.
At worst a second pairing 'D' at even strength who will quarterback the first PP unit.
Equal parts distributor / shooter . Fantastic skater. Quick to space. Agile. Gear to separate in open ice. Outstanding read / react speaks to his hockey sense.

Element is easy to identify - Transitional / 2-way 'D' on projection - brain to be used in a variety of roles - excels on the PP - can QB the top unit and make plays from the top of the zone, walk the line, cycle/carry pucks down low on his own - a bit of a forward's approach from a defenceman- skating stride is sound - mechanics could use a bit more of a knee bend/power out of the gate but it's not an issue / he will get more explosive as he matures - defending is a work in progress at this level - there are times he ends up on the high side of his man on the half wall and gives up a lane to the net or down towards the goal line - can't teach offense and this kid has a creative brain - small details and added strength will need to consistently improve in coming months
