Nicholas Robertson Scouting Reports

Roberston had a solid training camp with the Leafs before being sent to the AHL Marlies due to numbers and salary structure. He earned a recall after producing 5G-6A in nine AHL games.
Since his recall he has scored 2G-2A for the Leafs. He's averaging 10:17 TOI in 6GP but he only skated 8:43 and 7:42 in the two games in Sweden vs Detroit and Minnesota
A darting / skilled forward who's quick to space and can be a threat off the rush.
Great stick. Pucks are 'on and off' his stick in a hurry in scoring areas.
Has battled back from injuries. When healthy he can provide a secondary layer of offense. Isn't being used on the PP or PK. All of his TOI comes at ES.

Quick to space - has a gear in open ice / transition - quick release to the net when he has it on his stick between the hash marks
Likeable - but lacks durability - if he can stay healthy he has a chance to produce at the NHL level - the kind of player who needs top nine role and will skate at ES and PP

Robertson has the IQ for the game in the offensive zone but he isn't elite for his stature
Play away from the puck and three zone detail has improved
A good skater who will drive to the net if he gets the edge
A depth role at even strength with a 'customized' role on the power is possible

He suffered through injury this season but worked hard to rehab and made progress with his overall game. Now playing with the most pace he has shown at the pro level. A capable playmaker who creates through his hard work. Leans goal scorer more than distributor overall. Has potential to eventually become a middle 6 option who can possibly slot into a top 6 role when needed. His results have been slow to arrive at the NHL level but the pandemic and injuries certainly slowed his progress. Undersize skill forward. Element is offense.
