Emery lands somewhere between a #4 / #5 NHL defender on projection.
His combination of size, pace, and compete are attractive element.
At times he surprises directing pucks to the net with some deception.
Other times he doesn't look entirely comfortable making plays offensively.
Has the length, and commitment, to kill offensive zone entries and keep opponents to the perimeter defensively.

Big , rangy, long , at times physical (not punishing) '2-way D'
Moves well - especially on straight lines
Generally keeps the game simple with the puck on his stick. Rarely takes any risks.
His size is an asset when taking away time and space. Works to direct the play to the perimeter.
Has shown, occasionally, he can direct pucks on net with a sneaky release from distance - but its not a consistent element.
Monitor gap control off speed rush through neutral zone - turns to the middle instead of pivoting towards the wall and fronting his opponent.

Not known to produce a ton of offense, but he has a sneaky quick release to the net and can shoot the puck with authority when a lane opens up
Good feet. Loads of room for more strength.
Outlet execution ranges at times.
Has room to improve his 'routes' to kill plays / gap up and take his man
Overall game management is reliable - The kind of prospect who can be used at ES and PK
