ROUND 1TEAMORIGINALPLAYERDETAILS
1Logo of the San Jose Sharks-Best Scoring and Overall In the Draft
2Logo of the Chicago Blackhawks-Highest Upside Play. KHL Risk seems less than years past. Note: likely a lesser player than Michkov, alluding to downside play of this years group.
3Logo of the Anaheim Ducks-Anaheim, thought to ruin the party in Calgary, drafts Center Tij Iginla only to flip him to Calgary along with D Ian Moore and LW William Stromberg for D Rasmus Andersson, LW Parker Bell, former 1st Rounder Defensive Specialist C/LW Jakob Pelletier+2024 9th Overall Pick
4Logo of the Columbus Blue Jackets-With a new Admin in the Front Office, the Blue Jackets make the long play on a RHD from the KHL to add to a deep Pro Blue Line, yet a very thin Developmental Pipeline on the backend.
5Logo of the Montreal Canadiens-On a day where Montreal made a flurry of deals including dealing the Harris Brothers along with Armia to clear salary and add to their future stash of picks and organizational depth up front in the form of Henri Nikkanen and Brad Lambert from Winnipeg, they have dreams of Zdeno dance in their heads and know that this pick won’t grow into it’s own for another 3-4 years at minimum.
7Logo of the Ottawa Senators-Ottawa doing Ottawa things. Change begets more of the same. At best they draft the next Artem Zub here. The perfect replacement in a few years for…Artem Zub.
8Logo of the Seattle Kraken-Avoiding the second tier miss risk, Seattle forgoes drafting best available in lieu of organizational need here, citing existing Center depth at the 2-3 level and blue liners at the 4-6 level.
9Logo of the Calgary Flames-Calgary having dealt this pick to Anaheim in the Tij Iginla deal, are left hoping they don’t regret it as they watch monster forward Cayden Lindstrom come off the board. So far the Quacks are an early Draft Day Winner, turning the 3rd Overall, Ian Moore and William Stromgren into Rasmus Andersson, Cayden Lindstrom, Jakob Pelletier, and Parker Bell. They’ll be back on the board at 24.
10Logo of the New Jersey Devils-Jersey in need of Depth at all Positions after recent graduates, go for RD help leaving Dickenson as a shocking drop outside the Top 10
11Logo of the Buffalo Sabres-After trying and failing to swing deals for netminder mentors John Gibson and Jakob Markstrom, citing No Trade and No Movement Clauses, the vibe around Buffalo is one of disappointment as they add to a bare cupboard at the Center position
12Logo of the Philadelphia Flyers-The Flyers in need of immediate and long term help front, may settle in between here with help that may arrive sooner than anyone else available at this spot in the draft. Once thought a possible top 3 guy, the Flyers waste no time in adding this wing to Broadstreet.
13Logo of the Minnesota Wild-With visions of Griffin Reinhart dancing in their heads, the Wild continue to let SD fall, opting for quicker QB style back end addition.
14Logo of the San Jose SharksLogo of the Pittsburgh PenguinsA pick forever tied to the Celebrini season, they draft a big body to set opposite Little Mac and cover his 6.
15Logo of the Detroit Red Wings-With Edvinsson and possibly the Johansson Brothers moving up in the next year, Detroit nearly trips over their good luck here, snagging a consensus Top 7 pick.
16Logo of the St. Louis Blues-St. Louis likely feels lucky to still own this pick and now another in the 1st after a mix of additions and sweeteners to offset bad salary in dealing Colton Parayko, Simon Robertsson, LW Braden Schenn, Tyler Tucker, Jordan Binnington, and Dalibor Dvorsky to Toronto for RW Mitch Marner, G Dan Hildeby, D Timothy Liljegren, D Connor Timmins, C Calle Jarnkrok, C David Kampf, and Toronto’s 2024 1st+2026 1st. St. Louis nets a big win ditching Schenn and Binnington’s salary while adding a Top 10 Offensive Player in the NHL, despite having a hole in the Net that Hildeby is likely a few years away from being able to fill.
17Logo of the Washington Capitals-Caught in the land of tweeners, Washington adds to their mid landscape with a pick here that won’t reach the league before Ovi is sipping Mai Tai’s on a beach awaiting his Hall Of Fame call.
18Logo of the New York Islanders-For Roy’s first draft on the island the Godfather trades back to grab the 30th and 36th allowing Philly to move up 12 slots to grab big body and Michkov running mate of the future.
19Logo of the Vegas Golden Knights-With this Pro Roster looking mighty pricey, despite their best efforts to procure a trade, the Vegas Injured Reserves add to the cupboard in the first for the first time since seemingly the Glass and Brannstrom draft.
20Logo of the Chicago BlackhawksLogo of the Tampa Bay LightningNeeds across entire shelf organizationally, Chicago goes best available.
21Logo of the Los Angeles Kings-Montreal’s pick after acquiring it In a 3 team deal that saw the Harris Brothers land in Winnipeg, the Kings take on Joel Armia’s salary and the Habs add C Nikkanen and C Lambert from Winnipeg while taking on the enigma that is Pierre Luc Dubois, albeit at a reduced rate ($2M retained over 7 years) as well as this pick heading to Montreal while the Kings hope to have a resolution for the short and mid term in Samuel Montembault. Habs compete with Anaheim for Top of the Pops on the day with another Hutson in the kitchen.
22Logo of the Nashville Predators-Adding to the Swedish Mafia in the South.
23Logo of the Toronto Maple Leafs-St. Louis says thank you to Toronto again in rebuilding this unit on the fly with the best available.
24Logo of the Anaheim DucksLogo of the Edmonton OilersAnaheim, already rockstars at this draft, add another US Born Center to the best system in the league.
25Logo of the Colorado Avalanche-Colorado goes full Ritchie Rich, adding Ritchie the smaller, younger and faster to join big bro in the Denver developmental machine.
26Logo of the Ottawa SenatorsLogo of the Boston BruinsA system desperate for forwards…adds their second RHD of the day.
27Logo of the Montreal CanadiensLogo of the Winnipeg JetsThe New York Islanders acquire this pick, After much persuasion, and expessing a lack of confidence in his netminder among the staff and room, G Ilya Sorokin is sent packing in exchange for the 27th Overall pick, leaving Varlamov and Hellberg to hold down the crease as well as C Christian Dvorak coming to island to offset the cost of the Sorokin extension. Isles add size up front.
28Logo of the Carolina Hurricanes-The Finish Mafia gets small and swift on the back end.
29Logo of the Calgary FlamesLogo of the Vancouver CanucksA family reunion is Calgary for the Finn Fam.
30Logo of the Philadelphia FlyersLogo of the Florida PanthersThe Isles are back to the podium after dealing back from 18. Dipping into the Q for a Center with size who can play all 3 positions.
31Logo of the Dallas Stars-Dallas adds some size on the back end to a thinning blue line curve.
32Logo of the New York Rangers-Rangers go best available with upside play.
ROUND 2TEAMORIGINALPLAYERDETAILS
33Logo of the San Jose Sharks-Completing a full line up front, they get a Center to match their two earlier gets up front.
34Logo of the Chicago Blackhawks-Chi Town goes with the Big Wing
35Logo of the Anaheim Ducks-Almost unfair at this point, Anaheim adds a one time Top 15 Pick.
36Logo of the Philadelphia FlyersLogo of the Columbus Blue JacketsThe Islanders, a Lou and Roy Russki loving operation, go off the board somewhat with the 2nd of their trade back additions to bolster the back end.
37Logo of the Winnipeg JetsLogo of the Montreal CanadiensThe US Dev Program continues being wel represented in the Great White North after adding Blake Lizzotte and Jared Wright upfront as well as the Harris Brothers in the 3 team deal with LA and Montreal.
39Logo of the Ottawa Senators-Ottawa goes beat available with a value add here
40Logo of the Seattle Kraken-Seattle adds to a thin depth group up front.
41Logo of the Calgary Flames-Brick by brick here.
42Logo of the San Jose SharksLogo of the New Jersey DevilsRebuild is gonna be a long one especially with selections with as much mystery as this KHL product.
43Logo of the Buffalo Sabres-Buffalo hopes for another Tomas Vanek in this KHL Export
44Logo of the Pittsburgh PenguinsLogo of the Philadelphia FlyersWith good pedigree and size Pittsburgh adds to a suddenly promising D Mix including Belliveau and Pickering.
45Logo of the Minnesota Wild-Tiny Soda adds mid to mid with value here
46Logo of the Pittsburgh Penguins-Quick turnaround for the Steel City front office who come back for size up front.
47Logo of the Detroit Red Wings-Detroit gives a right side partner to SD.
48Logo of the St. Louis Blues-After word of a Chris Dreiger rights swap spreads across the draft floor, the Blues go best available.
49Logo of the Arizona CoyotesLogo of the Washington CapitalsUtah is quick to add another Big Body Up Front.
50Logo of the New York Islanders-Isles draft genes on this one.
51Logo of the Philadelphia Flyers-Philly goes big and bad to line up with quick and Esie

53Logo of the Nashville PredatorsLogo of the Tampa Bay LightningIts a backend add with size to pair with D MacK
54Logo of the Chicago BlackhawksLogo of the Los Angeles KingsChicago looks to build across all 6 positions. Better late than never.
55Logo of the Nashville Predators-Smash drafts bloodlines. Just not the ones everyone thought they would.
56Logo of the St. Louis BluesLogo of the Toronto Maple LeafsDoing Saintly things.
57Logo of the Edmonton Oilers-Colorado Deals Kamenev’s rights, Ondrej Pavel and Seattle’s 5th for the chance to grab Z’s son.

Idk who the Harris Brothers are but just have way too much LHD and so little top end forward, it just doesnt make sense for Montreal to draft Silayev, espacially with lindstrom still on the board

I got to the third pick and read that trade. There is no chance the Flames are giving up Andersson, a former first round selection and their 9th overall just to get iggy. I assume they are upset but still go out and get a great player.

Edit: There is a lot wrong here. Lesh is in the NCAA. The Jets trading Lambert for Hutson? No. MBN is a great pick for the Caps but he is probably only 1 year away from making the jump to the NHL so Ovi would still be under contract. Philly has their goal scorer in Michkov and need to get him supporting cast not another pure goal scorer.

I definitely disagree with your draft for the Sharks. They have a fairly good depth at center in their pipeline and very shallow depth at D, especially RD. Of course they're taking Celebrini and taking Greentree is fine, though with your mock I don't see them passing on Dickinson even though he's another LD when he's in discussion for best D in the draft. I see zero scenario where the Sharks don't take a defenseman in their first five picks of the draft and wait until 116.

Tij Iginla at 3 is nuts.

Buium at 13 and Dickinson at 15 is also nuts

I also say Connelly and Sennecke both go higher than they appear here, but those picks aren't as egregious as Iginla, Buium and Dickinson IMO

Dickinson has a very real argument for best D in the draft. I have not seen a ton of Silayev, but I put him on par with Levshunov, the only difference to me being that Levshunov is a RHD and Dickinson is a LHD. Between Buium, Levshunov, Dickinson, Parekh, Silayev and even Yakemchuk, there is A LOT of defensive talent at the top of this draft. I dont think any of them should be outside of the top 10, but with positional needs, who knows...

When you have that kind of positional depth in a draft, the Sharks would be dumb not to take one of them at 14 if they all arent all already taken.. Especially with Celebrini being your star forward from this draft anyways..

Why would the Sabres try to trade for a goalie?

"add to a bare cupboard at the Center position" this is just wrong

The Blues are never making that trade with Toronto.

Parayko and Binnington don't have negative value. In fact the only person you listed with Negative value is schenn.
Blues have no interest in Marner. Good Player but we are not paying the dude 11+ and he isn't staying.
Dalibor Dvorsky has no reason to be in this trade.

Sharks will have Celebrini, Smith, Bystedt, edstrom all at center. They desperately need Defensive depth, and in this they are taking none with their 4 picks in the top 42. They will likely take whoever is left at 14 and maybe Freij or EJ Emery type at 33. I guarantee there’s 0% chance they take all forward with those picks

"Ottawa doing Ottawa things. Change begets more of the same. At best they draft the next Artem Zub here. The perfect replacement in a few years for…Artem Zub." Yes Parekh is EXACTLY like Artem Zub!!

"A system desperate for forwards…adds their second RHD of the day." Pinto 23, Brady 24, Timmy 22, Norris 25, Greig 21, Batherson 26. We are not desperate for forwards we are desperate for right handed defenseman and goaltending. At least make sense if you are trying to roast our team goof.
