why? I don't disagree, he's not my favourite option either but what are your concerns.

I have learned from previous ACGM's that Colorado will not move Logan O'Connor, as much as I want him.

Imagine Brent Burns but not as good offensively.

arguably a better fit on the sens than parekh imo, but in this scenario hes gone. would you prefer to just draft Tij and not swap chabby/weegar? I just through this out there to see what cgy fans would think.

1) Parekh
2) Tij
3) Catton
4) Buium

Parekh is a perfect fit. In 3 years we won’t have any of Chabot or Chychrun.

Yakemchuk has put up 30 goals and 70 points in his draft year in the WHL.

Burns put up 15 goals and 40 points in his draft year (2002-03) in the OHL.

Not saying numbers are everything but I don't buy Yakemchuk's problems lie in his offensive ability. I worry that his defense isn't good enough.

Yeah but he’s also born in September while guys like Tij and Eiserman are born in August of the following year lol. And Parekh is born over 6 months after Yakemchuk

In this scenario where we move Chabot and trade down for Weegar, our RD problem is fixed. I would also move Chychrun and draft Dickinson over Yakemchuk

also note that hitmen were not a good team this year so don't be too alarmed by his +/-.

that's only one small part of it though. 6 months is barely anything in the grand scheme of things.

I’d rather just draft Parekh for the top pair skill and then size with the later picks in Emery, Elick, Brunicke , Kleber, Badinka etc

I haven't watched a ton of Yakemchuk so I can't say I know best, just that there are definitely some question marks in his defensive game.

-6 doesn't concern me. I don't really get too alarmed by +/- unless the player is in like DeBrincat territory.

Yakemchuk > Parekh but it's good if the Sens prefer Parekh it improve the odds Yakemchuk will still be available when Calgary picks.

+/- needs to be taken in context. Who he plays with and how his +/- compares to both his linemates and the rest of his team.

Much bigger, more physical, comparable offensive skill, close to as many points while playing for a worse team in a tougher, gritter league and he's a western kid too. The Spirt were a top team in the OHL this year (2nd most points in the league) while the Hitmen were a bottom feeder in the WHL (3rd least points in the league).

1 mil for a 3rd liner is pretty cheap for a cap strapped team, odds are in two years you'll be able to pick him from free agency since he might price himself out of colorado
