Not a Leafs fan. Quenneville is way too soon and that is too big of a profile market to do that.
Cooper, Sullivan, and Brind'amour are NOT going to TML. This is fantasy; Leafs just need to get over those guys.
Berube, Boudreau, Gallant, Evason, and maybe McLellan are the options
As an outsider but blues fan, besides Berube for bias reasons, that list doesn’t move the needle for me at all.
I like Berube for tor cause he always came across as a huge players coach, but also was strict with the minutes. He never like did stuff out of spite. He didn’t really have a “doghouse”, didn’t seem to over communicate, also didn’t seem to overload unnecessarily - blues played simple hockey. It also seemed like his assistants had a lot of influence, more so than when we had hitch, which ultimately let our defense be very aggressive at times, but restrained more so than not. Lines were mixed about as often as average, with hitch being more extreme. A lot of stability, and a good guy to be the first one rowing in a specific direction.
Sullivan could be interesting. Some weird timeline where Toronto and Pittsburg exchange coaches.
