Well take
I can’t think of any explanation as to why all of those teams would do us huge favors like these deals.

WAY too many years left on Rakell for a buyout.

If we can move him with retention that’s preferable.

I hate this… but until someone take a cheap shot at Panarin or Fox, he’s going to keep getting the green light. None of the coaches care and more importantly the league doesn’t care.

It’ll never happen. He got the leadership award and he has the “body check” commercial. The league markets him. The same franchise employed Matt Rempe.

PK telling us exactly what should have happened regarding Captain Elbow. Messier’s silence indicates even he knows it was the wrong call. Captain elbow should not be playing next game.

Crosby Extends And Dubas Learns About Buyouts
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DNP1932</b></div><div>Beauvillier was traded twice, and the first time was well before the deadline. And i will repeat, Reilly smith has and had much better track record, production, and experience, on top of that he can play both the PP and PK, and was crazy underutilized on the PK imo, guy had 4 SHG in Vegas in the 22-23 season which was t3 in the league, and that was a deep team with a lot of defensively minded players, should’ve been a regular PKer in Pitt. This narrative is old, no need for buyout, retention, or giving up assets to move him.</div></div>
He was traded during the season though. And he’s 26 years old. Smith is 33. If we go into the season with him and then move him I could see a return similar to what Zucker got.

Those were deadline trades. Now if you’re taking about a trade before the deadline then I get what you’re saying. I’m talking about a summer trade.

No one is giving us anything for him at full price. If we retain half and take a very late pick or, FC, that’s the best case scenario. The guy has negative value at his cap hit.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LuckyMoneyPuck</b></div><div>there is no point in signing a 3C. They have Yager, Poulin, Broz and Ponomarev who are all centers.
One of those, most likely Broz, will end up being a 3C in the next 1/2 to 1 season.
The team appears dead set to play Ivany at 3RD anyway.
The defense on this team is most likely set already. So is the goal tending, no need to sign anyone, bloom will get the backup role.
The only area on this team not filled yet is 1LW.</div></div>
All valid points. I’d rather have an upgraded veteran 3C for the next couple of seasons but it’s a long shot. By the time Broz and Yager are full time NHLers this team will be toast. St. Ivany needs to be handled with some care to avoid being one of those young Dman who gets too many NHL games too early on. I’m sure they won’t spend the way I did on a guy like Carrier, but a one year deal on someone similar to a Ruhwedel would be ideal.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KrakenTheCode</b></div><div>A first round pick would be an overpayment for Tolvanen, I'm going to second what GeneralLandro said where it would take a better prospect in place of Ilyin/Murashov to get to the right valuation. The thing is the Kraken are better off keeping Tolvanen as a contributor for the next few seasons (he's young enough to be a long-term fixture) than they would be trading him for fair market value. For that reason I doubt he's going anywhere.
As for the contract I expect his AAV to land in the ~$4M range.</div></div>
Even 4 is a bit much for a guy you got off waivers. I like the player, which is obviously why I’m interested but if the cost was 4M no thanks. I can see 3.5 max.

Because we are trying to move one of the worst contracts in the league and this is probably the only team who can take the whole thing.
