Viva Las Vegas
This makes them better, but they still lack the true number 1 dman and the left wing is a little weak. I'd consider Tavares to LW and Stephenson to 2c. But this is a balanced roster, their recent teams have seemed like 4 big guys with a bunch of miscellaneous free agents lol

Lindholm contract is probably in the 7's, but maybe swayman is a little lower. I like this overall

10 center targets ranked by likelihood
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Celtics21</b></div><div>His stat line and profile don’t say he’s what you say he is. That’s one of the frustrating aspects with young teams. A reasonable percentage of the high profile prospects are simply not good at the NHL level. It could be he’s not ready and he’ll just take time. The assumption that all young players hit is actually one of the bigger fallacies around</div></div>
100% agreed. People really tend to overvalue prospects, they assume their ceiling is their likely potential, and trading them away FEELS like they're trading a player that has already hit their potential. One of my favorite things to do to show this is to look up team prospect pool rankings from 6,7,8+ years ago, and see how wrong so many of them are. It's truly an eye opener.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Celtics21</b></div><div>Why would you want a 25 year old goaltender who’s been great the last two years and just came off a playoff where his GsaX of 13.3 in 12 games was utterly absurd. To give you context, John Gibson has passed that number in a season twice and one of those seasons was barely. He was a very good goaltender in his prime.
Not that it’s something Boston would entertain anyway. People speak all they want about goalie values. 3 of the 4 final teams have great goaltending</div></div>
Having a good goalie isn't fun/strategic, so fans underestimate their value. People are hyperfocused on skaters. But if you have a goalie that's saving half a goal to a goal a game, that's arguably more valuable than a <=40 or so goal scorer.

If it doesnt work
I actually really like Zibanejad, but I'd only trade mcavoy for a cup caliber center, which Zib isn't. If the b's get trouba the rangers would have to take Frederic back lol, don't want any baseball shenanigans and practice :tearsofjoy

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>why do you hate the bruins?</div></div>
Yeah that Coyle deal... I mean he'd probably land a high second round pick and maybe a late first - definitely a late first if this was at the deadline.
Carlo, same thing. Big shutdown guys like that don't grow on trees.
Coyle is the only one I'd consider trading of the two, and that would have to be for a very specific deal, like coyle + Lysell for Necas, since the canes are looking for a 2c, and even then I'd want to be sure the B's have signed/acquired a 1c.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Celtics21</b></div><div>I see the Bruins signing Lindholm, but I believe Stephenson and PLD are probably 3 and 4 on the list for center. I’ll leave Necas there, but he is not a center</div></div>
I see them getting Lindholm too. Would love to see Lindholm as the FA signing, and Necas as part of the Ullmark deal. Necas was drafted as a center so he has potential upside there for a lower cost than an actual center, so I think it's absolutely worth a shot. PLD is one of the more intriguing options because of his upside, but the downside is hard to ignore

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac555</b></div><div>Only issue is that Necas isn’t a center</div></div>
He was drafted as a center, so technically he is one. The problem with boston is they have limited assets, so they're not gonna be able to just get a center in their mid 20's, they'll have to take a "risk" on someone like Necas and hope he pans out as a center. Worst case, he becomes 2rw, which they need anyways.

10 center targets ranked by likelihood
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>It’s cheap. And trading for centers can get expensive.
Also the Lindholm contract has good chance of being a regrettable one. Especially if he gets the numbers some people are suggesting for him. But if they are getting $1m as above, it’s worth it (Sign ‘em all)
Here are AFP contract projections FYI. Maybe useful when comparing all at once.
Lindholm $6.76m x 5 years
Stamkos $6.13m x 3 years
Stephenson $5.61m x 5 years
Monahan $5.29m x 5 years
Duchene $4.81m x 3 years</div></div>
These seem like slight underpays, but the ratios are all accurate imo. The most appealing to me here is probably Stamkos. But Lindholm for 5 years I'd do, it's the 6-7 years that make it tricky for me. I just don't want to see the prime of mcavoy/pasta wasted because they don't have centers.

I do think Tavares' contract coming off the books next offseason is going to help the leafs a lot. They need some dmen.

Agreed, but I'm thinking this could be a sneaky opportunity to draft high, even if the pool is weaker. I'd feel better about drafting 7th in a weak class than mid 20's in a strong class, but pros and cons to both. I've heard good things about Iginla's kid so that's intriguing
