My main thought was Connelly, but since he's off the board, here's available players who Chicago could take (in order of who I think would be a better pick for the Hawks).
</div></div>
my guess : they had a hint about who Vegas might select, and they wanted to make sure they get their player

To get higher AAVs. Lots of contenders are going to be cap strapped so it might make more sense for them to do smaller terms with big money

I’d just love to see the combo of Boisvert and Leonard on a line together so I made a guilty pleasure pick😅

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>capsleafs447</b></div><div>It’s better than the Geekie-Bystedt trade from 22</div></div>
The issue is San Jose wanted to build their prospect pool up. Minnesota doesn’t need to do that as they are fairly deep with middle of the lineup prospects. They need higher quality prospects going forward.

Tomasino hasn't broken through because he has been in Burnette's doghouse. Burnette and Trotz said he has the skill, just lacking maturity, and that is why he is in the AHL right now.
If LA wants the skill, Tomasino has it, it's more about the change of scenery because if Tomasino can't get out of the doghouse after being spoiled by Hynes, then it might be better for NSH to move on from him. It sucks for NSH, but it might be best for both player and team.

It is utterly horrific.
The gap in value is equivalent to 17th overall.
For a rental of a backup goalie who had a 0.895, negative GSAx, and has never posted a SV% above 0.900.
Kaapo Kahkonen and Jake Allen are both coming off better seasons than Vejmelka.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>capsleafs447</b></div><div>Lappy will definitely cut it, whether he's a 2C or a 3C (although I'm fairly high on him compared to most). Strome will be gone before the end of the rebuild, and who knows with McMichael. He could be a second-liner or a fourth-liner and I wouldn't be surprised either way.
Agreed on Hage though, we could definitely use some more depth in center. Hage is a low-floor high-ceiling kind of guy IMO and I could see him as a first-liner in the future.</div></div>
I feel like Lappy and McMichael are gonna be whatever guys (middle six) so going for Hage either means that they get competition and improve, or Hage jumps them all

This is where the poll list starts to be too small, since we all have different rankings, there's so many forwards who could make a case for this spot (Greentree, Connelly, Chernyshov, Hage, Boisvert, Basha, Stiga, Hemming, Ritchie, Parascak, Luchanko, Surin, Artamonov, etc)

Stiga wasn't scouted at all until the U18s where he was USA's best player apart from Hagens. Yes Stiga was on the same line but he was able to create opportunites rather than having the opportunity to come to him. He's also the best skater in the draft and unreal defensively.

I could argue you need to go 🤷🏻but it’s a free country and you’re entitled to your opinion. But luckily you don’t have any actual say; Marner has full NMC & Leafs won’t be trading him - especially for garbage.

I have Spence at #2. Defensively he's actually very talented and he's arguably the best skater in the draft.
Otherwise this looks solid.

Konecny and a Lundell OS
I'd be concerned about the Sabres cap in 24/25. Konecky is a UFA, RFAs Byram, Levi, Johnson, Quinn, Pekera to be resigned. The only real expiring contract would be 3m Greenway.
