    Retaining 3mil cap, 9 million total for a 2nd round pick is not good business

    For me, 5 million in retention is worth a mid first. So that's basically 2 firsts for them to hold 9 million. Give or take. A second wouldn't cut it.

    I’d consider a trade with Pulock and Jokiharju but no way Skinners involved. A younger forward would probably have to be included or make it a first

    Why are you giving up that much in a trade for Necas? You can offer-sheet him for a 1st, 2nd and a 3rd for that contract.

    You're giving up 2 future/former 1sts and a RD (a position we need) that can play up and down the pairings.

    Just offer sheet Necas. It would cost way less.
