I doubt it, you would probably need to add on top of that to have them get rid of that pick

San Jose doesn't want to trade their pick for anything they want Celebrini.

That's a ridiculous overpayment from Chicago. No way they'd even offer that.

I'll put it to you this way. Was there anything you'd give up when you had Bedard locked up?

No.... there's your answer.

Neither team does this deal. Take Demidov and save the picks.

I agree... however Bedard I saw as a level above Celebrini prospect wise... this entire site is just for hypothetical fun IMO.

This is a Massive payment to move up 1 spot when there are 2 very solid pieces available that make more sense for Chicago at #2.
And San Jose should take Celebrini and get their #1 C

Will be interesting debate about the 2025 pick. I’d say make 2025 lottery-protected, but I think it is barred from lottery anyway. If so, SjS could still win with that pick, so it has move value to them (they can still move up).

Definitely a fun hypothetical. I don't see the Sharks or Hawks being interested in something like this, but I this definitely favors the Sharks. Then again, nobody is ever getting the 1OA in a trade without massively overpaying, so who knows

This would never happen, but the Sharks would be smart to take that deal as long as Chicago’s 2025 1st is unprotected. Take Levshunov this year, and then you’ll likely have two top 5 picks next year.

No.

We've been waiting all season for Celebrini.

Sharks should do that, but won't. Hawks don't.

San Jose would be idiotic to turn that down.

Sharks would be smart to take that deal if the 2025 pick was unprotected. They'd have 3 picks 1st round this year (2,14,20) and very likely 2 top 5 picks next year. Draft Levshunov and have your #1RD. Plus Moore and Reichel who are both 1st round talents. Essentially getting five 1st round picks for Celebrini. Hockey is a team game. 5 very good players will always beat 1 great player every day.

They're not barred from the lottery. On 32 Thoughts recently (Monday?) someone specifically asked about it and the answer was that a team that remains in their position doesn't lose eligibility, so the Hawks are still eligible for next year's lottery.

Just seeing this for the first time. This is awful for CHI. Not happening.
