One of the only deals I'd do for Tavares
Isles and Rags both say no you just want chaos

Sorry to break it to you but Ilya > Igor 🥱🥱🥱

I’d rather the playoff performer, not the one being scratched

There's roughly a negative eleventy-billion percent chance of the Islanders and Rangers ever doing a trade that significant.

They've literally done one trade after the 1972 expansion draft and it was like an 8th round pick for a guy who never played in the NHL.

Both are elite goalies, Igor also never had to play 15 straight games this year. Igor save % was only 0.04 higher than Ilya on a MUCH better team

Not my fault Sorokin didn’t ask for rest or a break. And I mean you clearly don’t watch the Rangers refuse to play defense

Islanders let the 3rd most shot aganist this season, Rangers the 8th least shots aganist. And pro athletes are some of the most competitive humans on Earth, ofc someone who is a pro athlete playing in the top league in the world wouldn't refuse to play when his teams needs him, Igor would do the same. Point is both are elite goalies and athletes and not one is truly better than the other, Igor had a better season but player on a president trophy team with a top coach, while we had country club Lambert

Good point. I agree both goalies are really elite, but I do think Igor is a bit better

In the regular season, Ilya played 56 games and Igor played 55. Ilya faced 220 more shots. Tell us again which team refused to play defense.

and that's fair, but to act like one is an entire tier above the other is just stupid

Igor won a Vezina on a Gallant led team

4+ goals allowed game:
Igor 43 games in 213 total (20%)
Sorokin 52 games in 192 total (27%)

Sorokin’s stats are a bit inflated by shutouts

Yes they’re both elite, but Igor has been ahead by a little

Yea maybe but Goalies in general get disrespect because it’s a new era of hockey that’s all about offense and scoring

I mean gallant didn’t even coach. The rangers just had talent and Igor was in god mode the 1 year

Oh definitely very few goalies who are truly elite: Otteniger, Ilya, Igor, Helly etc

Gallant is still a good coach he is just someone who loses the locker room very fast. I mean Florida Vegas and NYR all exceed expectations than took a noticeable nose dive the next year. He is just a one year coach

I don’t know it by game. But below is since 2020-21

Igor shots against per game: 34.41
Sorokin shots against per game: 34.98
