Note: Reports prior to Sept 2023 were originally graded out of ten, and also included additional categories that have been merged into the current categories.
This likely results in the overall ratings prior to 2023 being decreased in comparison to reports since Sept 2023.

For an `Apples to Apples` comparison between players, we recommend only comparing reports before, or after, Sept 2023.
Results will average out accordingly as more data is accumulated.

Duclair plays the game quick and fast. He can be a threat off the rush and creative on the power-play. In the first 46GP - before the All-Star break - Duclair skated in 46 games and produced 9G-8A Leans shooter more than distributor. Compete, and detail, ranges at times. Logs a ton of ice time for Tampa Deployed in all situations Through his first 13GP he averaged 23:33 TOI - 19:37 ES - 1:40 PP - 2:15 PK - 0G - 7A Proficient shot blocker (credited with 7 hits / 30 shot blocks in segment) Very skilled. Sees the ice. Excellent distributor. Has a heavy / hard shot that can beat NHL goalies from range. His detail, and pace he goes about his business ranges. There are nights he looks a bit disinterested (he's not - it's just the way he approaches the game) Off to a tough start defensively in (23/24) however .... To start the (23/24) season he looks leaner and quicker. Continues to play to a high level offensively. Bulk of his TOI comes at ES and PP. Rips pucks from the weak side flank on the PP. Has become a very proficient distributor as his career ages. Through his first 11GP - 4G -10A - 35 shots on goal Defensive detail can range. Opponents have found ways to slip off his check on occasion. Room for improvement in the F/O circle (47%) Offense wins out. Still elite.Nov. 6, 2023Nov. 9, 2023

FP
There are nights he can look a bit sleepy with his overall effort and detail, but what's undeniable is he is one of the most gifted offensive players in the entire NHL. A good skater who has a gear, at times, off the rush. If he gets the edge he is plenty sturdy to shield opponents on his way to their net. Exceptionally dangerous on the PP. Everyone knows where he sets up (weak side flank) yet he continues to one time pucks and score goals. Fantastic catch and release. Equally elite vision making plays off the cycle / through seams. Through his first 13GP he averaged 21:06 TOI - 17:12 ES - 3:53 PP Incredible start to the season offensively - 10G - 12 A - No doubt he has holes defensively but his offense will always be too elite to overlookNov. 6, 2023Nov. 9, 2023
Tanner JeannotLogo of the Tampa Bay LightningLW261 of 1

L3
Easily defined. Jeannot is a big, strong, middle of the lineup power forward who doesn't back down physically. He's an adequate NHL skater who has shown he can score at ES and on the second PP unit His three zone detail does range at times. His read / react game in the defensive zone has room to be more crisp occasionally. What's undeniable is the fact he's hard to play against. He sets up around the crease on the second PP unit / takes the 'eyes' away from the goalie and creates a distraction for opposing defenders. Through his first 13 game segment he averaged 12:55 TOI - 11:49 ES - 1:06 PP - he doesn't penalty-kill. 20 shots on goal - 2G - 3A - 41 hits (!) 5 shot blocksNov. 6, 2023Nov. 9, 2023

Cernak brings immense value to the Tampa lineup. He's the kind of player that contributes to team wins. When he's out of the lineup he's very hard to replace. Cernak is a big, strong, right-shot defenceman who matches up against top lines. The bulk of his ice time comes at ES and PK He's physical ... and never backs down in the trenches. Cernak is a solid skater with reliable puck skill. He makes the play that's available / doesn't go out of his way to get too creative. In the first 13GP he scored 0G-3A - averaged 19:41 TOI - 16:26 ES - 3:06 PK No easy minutes. Credited with 30 hits and 17 shot blocks.Nov. 6, 2023Nov. 9, 2023

Perbix is a third-pairing NHL defender He has good size and uses his long reach to disrupt opponents and attempt to keep them to the perimeter. His skating is adequate, but his lack of explosiveness holds him back from closing his gaps with more authority and finishing checks. He isn't shy about getting in shooting lanes to block shots. P3
As Raddysh developed, at the pro level, he had to re-invent himself in many ways As a junior he was a PP QB. A player who made plays with the man advantage and pushed offense at even strength. He continued playing to the same identity in the AHL. At the NHL level he is being used as a combination second/third pairing 'D' who is tasked with taking care of his zone first. His offense has taken a back seat, although he remains a sound distributor who sees the ice and outlets efficiently. Average plus skater. Some bump / push back. Barre-Boulet is an interesting player who has had several starts and stops in his career. An undrafted free agent signing out of the QMJHL Proven scorer. Johannson was signed as a backup by the Bolts but has been thrust into the starting role with Vasilevsky being out with injury / back surgery to start the season. All things considered, Johannson has done a nice job. His performance vs the Toronto Maple was average at best, but his body of work overall has been solid. Big body. Huge in the net. Butterfly style. Relies on sound positioning / squaring up. Not overly athletic. Doesn't track exceptionally well from side to side. Average feet. Gloves are also average. At the end of the day he can manage backup duty but isn't a #1 at the NHL level. Through his first 10GP he posted 3.17 GAA and .907 save %Nov. 6, 2023Nov. 7, 2023
