Certainly not moving Girard. Moving the Val contract at a loss, Landeskog is probably never coming back so they will have plenty of cap room.

Walker is realistically 4mil minimum, Casey 6mil minimum. I doubt you will have to worry about Nichuskin or Dadeskog's AAV. Plenty of money. I feel bad for COL, this series should have went to 7 if not for losing their top goal scorer. They'll be back.

With the extra money I expect them to get another goaltender. Even though Georgie was pretty solid in the playoffs, I think they need a 1A/1B system. Playing him nearly 70 games is just stupid.

Didn't know his injury got worse. I just remember reading that he'd be recovered late in the playoffs if the Avs were still in

That’s an underwhelming return for a 25yr old top 4 dman locked up long term to say the least. Forget the fact they aren’t trading Girard to sign Walker. Kovalenko makes the team, Malinski makes the team, Trenin and Mittlestadt both probably get a little bit more.

It doesnt sound like it gotten worse but it doesn't sound like its gotten better. The most recent videos of him skating don't look too reasurring.

Val has a full NMC which I doubt he waives but maybe wants a fresh start elsewhere although I can't see anyone wanting him at this point. I suppose someone might see it as a win/win: they either get a very good player or he gets to his last strike and he potentially could have his contract terminated. But if that's the case, the Avs should just roll the dice and keep him unless he's burned those bridges and they just can't get past it which is entirely possible. Also, it may not be possible to trade a suspended player but I'm not sure about that. It's a mess of a situation for sure and no clear solutions.

Landy is still up in the air; we have no idea if he's going to come back and may not know until the start of next season. I would hope he would know prior to UFA but that isn't terribly far off and he's right in the middle of the recovery window he was given.

He was never expected to return this season, including the playoffs; that was confirmed by CMac about a month ago. He's skating again but still taking it slow; no telling what's going to happen at this point.

Y’all don’t have to worry, because CBJ pass regardless.

A likely Top-12 pick, and a high-end prospect for three years of a guy playing a position that is either already filled at a roster level (Werenski/Severson), or is projected to be filled by a top prospect (Jiricek/Mateychuk). A reliable B6 guy and a 3rd just add to the “pass” here.

Can’t really see Columbus shopping for a small LHD with a high cap hit, especially if it means spending their own first on it.

Zero interest in Girard. We already have a bunch of LD. Jackets certainly aren’t moving any assets for something that is redundant.

Tbf comparing that with the Hronek trade which I tend to use as a comparable in value that's not the worst I've seen by a long mark. Not sure the Avs would want TWO diminutive forwards in a trade but the straight value is probably thereabouts. Certainly wouldn't suggest it does much for the Avs as an offer but the value in itself is close. Your point however stands about trading Girard and signing Walker plus the others.

The Avs have decidedly chosen not to go the small forward route in the bottom 6 especially one that would be miles away from the NHl if ever and a 1st rd pick that almost assuredly doesn’t convey until 2026, so your essentially trading a 25yr old top 4 dmen for a 30yr old bottom 6 forward who isn’t even good on face offs. Forget that Walker isn’t signing that deal I wouldn’t do it.
