Description
1. I like Dorofeyev, unsure the sentiment from VGK fans. Another proposal I had was adding in Evans with Barron, for a solid, cheap defensive-minded bottom-6 center. I think Barron would develop well in Vegas and can provide another layer of moderate offense from the back-end.

2. I've seen some games of Parssinen and have liked him. Wouldn't mind sending a young, larger defensive-defenseman to NSH for him. It seems NSH isn't getting what they want out of Parssinen. I know they need scoring, but MTL lacks that on their roster, so not much to choose from.

3. Dvo to CBJ to take on his cap and he can be a "serviceable" center for a little bit. Maybe a 3rd party team will retain on him for some picks. The Jets 1st rd for 2024 is part of the compensation.

4. Hoping Kovy can help ANA with some RD depth needs. Nothing crazy. I thought he was solid, just not part of MTL's vision with their prospects.

5. Devils was just an example for JAnderson, doesn't have to be them. Love him, but looking at the lineup after the trades, he'd be the odd man out considering Gallagher has given his heart and soul to the team.

Go ahead and bash me, I'm used to it on this site.

An early third might be a tad steep for Kovys services, but not out of the realm of possibility, I'd be tossing a 4th at him personally.

You traded a 1st to rid ourselves of Dvo on his final year, where we dont need his capspace and didn't even dress the player we got in return.

At this point, why not keep the 1st, throw Dvo on waivers and let him walk next summer?

Roy can stay in Laval, and Kapenen is signed in Sweden another year. Anderson and Dvo dont need to be traded. I dont think the new guys move the needle at all either.

I didn't realize I didn't have Texier in the lineup. That's another way to do it too; didn't think of that.

I'd say Dorofeyev would be a good add to the group. Parssinen would be a hit or miss, but I don't see Struble hanging around much longer. I'd preferably keep Jandy, so in your scenario, I wouldn't trade him either. Like RobbStark said, could just put Dvo on waivers if necessary. (EDIT: I was talking to RobbStark the whole time, LOL)

The lineup is weaker and in the process we traded away a 1st, and used the last retention slot and retain on a player for 3 years, this wasn't very productive

Nashville declines. Our positions of need are Center and RD. We won't be trading away one of our few young centers for a LD prospect and a pick downgrade.

I'd like to know how it's "weaker" when the only starters moved were Jandy and Dvo, maybe Struble. Doro would be an upgrade from what we have. Most see Roy playing next year. Apparently Kap is signed in Sweden for another year, so he's out. As commented above, I'd probably take the Dvo trade out anyways. So there's Dvo and the 1st back. Everyone else is in their respective spots.

So in summary, we added Dorofeyev and Parssinen. Got rid of Kovy who won't play, Barron who most likely won't play in the big club, Struble who will probably be in and out, and Jandy (who I'd keep anyways since I learned Kap is playing in Sweden another year).

Understood, wasn't sure what exactly the needs were. Don't see many NSH ACGM w/o Marner and Saros

Tell me about it. I'm burned out from all of the terrible Toronto ACGMs.

The value of the trade itself is fine, just not the right fit. Nashville would be more interested in Barron and probably look to swap Parssinen with Glass or a wing prospect like Schaefer.

What percentage of Habs fans won't let go of the fact Josh Anderson has negative value?

Because we found one here.

What percentage of devils fans won't stop crying whenever there's an Anderson trade involved?

Because we found one here.

I'd imagine "win-now" teams wouldn't mind giving up late picks and risking it for a retained Anderson who can bring a lot into playoffs. I also mentioned that it doesn't have to be NJ, so I apologize for striking a nerve in whatever weird personal vendetta you have against a player you maybe watch 2-3x a year.

It’s not a terrible offer but Doro is much more needed than any defenseman. Picks don’t do much as they are years away from contributing

Yeah, I can't imagine wasting those picks when other players exist.

Take out Texier and the Jackets think about it. Shouldn't be too much of a stretch for y'all since you apparently traded for his rights and then never bothered to sign him.
