Carolina don't consider that MTL trade, it's bad value for MTL, but Carolina are set on D for the future.

Habs fans are going to come for your throat for that deal but honestly, I’d rather move Necas for a forward or an RHD. Both teams decline. Also Staal at 2C is a… choice.

I really wanted to find a way to keep Skeji but it isn't affordable. After signing Guentzel and Jarvis to long term deals and keeping our D full with Burns aging, there doesn't seem to be a way. From this current roster Martinook and Noesen are interchangeable signings along with Guhle being interchangeable with any younger or cheap left D-man. Lastly, I think after watching Necas over the past 2-3 seasons, his proposed value will not be fulfilled by his actual value on the ice. Thus, a trade for a younger left handed defensman and potentially a pick.

We all know that with the genius Don Waddell, we won't know or be able to predict what happens until it actually does.

I also think it is hard because on every other mock team I find, they have Alexander Nikishin coming up, but due to the contract issues with the KHL I can not consider that a real solution.
