If the Hawks are confident Levshunov as our number one RHD for the future (I’m hoping they use the pick on Demidov personally), and if Marner came with an acceptable extension in place, I could see us pulling the trigger on this.

But! If Marner doesn’t come with an extension, then no way Jose. I remember how Marner held out for crazy $$$. I don’t want to hawks to be tied up in the same cap situation that the Leafs are in now. And Marner and his antics are one of the main reasons the leafs find themselves in cap hell. I do not want to invite those problems into the hawks org

Can’t see the Hawks retaining $12m (6 x $2m) on Jones when there is absolutely no reason to move him.

As for Timmins, if you search every day for the past calendar year, you will see a consistent opinion expressed by Hawks fans.

Retention is a deal breaker on any jone trade unless marner drops the God complex and signs closer to 8 mil per.

Unpopular opinion:

Hall for Larsson wasn't even that atrocious for EDM. I know that when they moved him to ARI the Devils got a pick that became Dawson Mercer and prospect Kevin Bahl who's on their blueline right now, but that was done in a separate move.

My reasoning for saying the deal wasn't even that atriocious is that the Oilers got more service out of Larsson than the Devils did out of Hall.
